  • In this video I'm going to show you 4 graphic design skills that have totally changed the way I design and think about design in my graphic design career. The 4 techniques or skills have been real 'game changers' to the way I approach this field of work and my career, and the end results in terms of the design artwork I put it, only get better with time
    The 4 skills range from things like understanding the goals of a graphic design, or what the project goals are. Working a narrative and memory hooks into design work, and then also looking at contrast, but not in the conventional way that a lot of people often think about it. It's a far wider design principle than is generally seen.
    If you found todays video on 4 new graphic design skills enjoyable or useful, let me know in the comments section and drop a like on your way out. Subscribe to stay updated to all of my uploads and until next time, design your future today, peace ✌️

    Great tips as per usual! One thing I’d add is to really think about the end use of the design-as a knitter, I agree that the wool packaging you showed is cute, but I can almost guarantee it will limit them because yarn shops tend to store things in bins and in batches on shelves separated from other colors or brands. Things are packed pretty tightly together because many local yarn shops don’t have a lot of space. That kind of packaging would also affect shipping to some extent, which may or may not be a big deal depending on the size of boxes they already use. But if that packaging was just for display items and they have a more compact style for the bins, that could work!

    in the first example you mentioned that the designer used fresh cut of fruits to covey the sens of sourness and fresh , but my question is how to figure out what conveys what? for example what feels classic, what makes something royal, what makes it retro, what makes a logo feel trustworthy ...............?

    Hi Tom, these are such great tips, thanks. I'd really like to be able to improve my graphic design, can suggest any helpful resources? Or is it a question of immersing myself in design and learning that way?

    • @SatoriGraphics
      @SatoriGraphics  Před rokem +2

      Hi there Nicky.
      The internet pretty much has everything you need. I suggest you start focusing first on mastering the graphic design principles, (search on Google or YouYtube), and learn about them until you can recognise them in designs.
      From there, discover what passion you have within graphic design. Is it typography, logo design, branding, package design etc.
      Also I would suggest studying marketing in some way. Either through reading books or taking a course. These days it helps to understand marketing because social media is a great free marketing tool, and the world is changing where many people are working for themselves and starting their own businesses.

      You sound like a luddite in 2023.
      Also the entire artificial intelligence movement is 100x bigger than me, you or the collective design space here on CZcams. It's unstoppable, and the sooner you make peace with that, and figure out how to make a career alongside it, the better.
