- Welcome to my channel 'East Greets West Cookery'. I want to share with you this recipe ' how to make mala paste - xiao la (less spicy)'
Ingredients:
4 pieces bay leaves
3 pieces star anise
6 pieces white cardamon
1 pieces cinnamon
1 tsp of cloves
4 pieces of Gancao
1/3 cup sichuan pepper
1 Tbspn of fennel seed
1 Tbspn of cumin seed
1 Tbspn of chili flakes
WET INGREDIENTS:
120 g cup of red chillies finger
100 g garlic
50 g ginger
20g chillies small
1 cup broad bean paste
1/3 cup black bean paste
1 Tbsp of sugar
1 Tbsp of salt
1 Tbsp of MSG
5 cup of canola oil

Hi! Yes you can get the broad bean paste and balck bean paste in any asian store. Any brand will do.
