It was some version of "I don't valued or supported."
They tell us things like, "I don't trust my employer" and "I fear retaliation, if I assert my rights."
Some of these are real concerns. There are employers posting record profits while paying employees low wages. Others fail to provide physical or psychological safety in their workplaces.
Yet there are frequently employee concerns that are perceived because employers generally have a bad reputation. They're assumed to be evil and manipulative by default.
There's a big disconnect between employer and employee.
