I was hoping the mention of abortion in the bible was mentioned, which the Hebrew priest performs after given a small sacrificial fee. It is searchable as the ritual of bitter water.
You wanted it to be mentioned? It's about the baby being killed because of the woman's sinful actions. If she was faithful, no death occurred. The death of her child was a curse upon her. That may be why it wasn't included. lol
And in the case of men fighting & causing a woman to lose her pregnancy, there was a fine. Not the punishment for murder; just a fine.
@@4362mont That's not true. If the fight causes the baby to be born prematurely unharmed, there's a fine of whatever the husband demands. If there is serious injury (including death) to the baby, you are to take life for life.
This headline is misleading as hell. It should read “the legal history of abortion.”

Sexual liberation and freedom come with risk and responsibility. This includes accepting the consequences of the choices women freely make to engage in sexual intercourse. Adults realize this and young women need to be taught this. But I am aware that we live in a world full of psychotic and neurotic people where not much is sacred and ego-centric pleasure rules the day.
It's a matter of human life: more specifically, it concerns a woman's life, including her right to her own body and deciding whether her body will be the recipient of another life.

In my opinion, it’s not a matter of whether the fetus should be considered alive or not; sure, it’s biologically alive. However, it’s a matter of whether the fetus is unconscious and dependent on another being for survival, which it is both.
Just like how a comatose person is entirely dependent on others to survive but lacks consciousness, a fetus is entirely dependent on the person who it is within and does not possess any form of consciousness.
It is for those two reasons, that
1. It is moral for the next of kin to decide to euthanize the comatose person if they do not wish to provide healthcare for them.
2. It is moral for a pregnant person to decide to abort their baby if they do not wish to give birth to them.
There is a bit more that can be explored about this, but that is the most fundamental explanation I can give. I’d be happy to exchange opinions with others too, I am open to civil discussion.

Reality has to be faced. After conception there are two lives to be considered. Except in cases of rape or medical complications that threaten a woman’s life, Women need to take more responsibility every time they decide to have intercourse. Every woman I have ever known who’s terminated a pregnancy “accidentally got pregnant” and decided that carrying a pregnancy to term would have meant ending their carefree, self-centered lifestyle. They aborted for comfort and convenience period.And YES the reasons for an abortion matter!
