Originally from Ballylongford in County Kerry our Awardee for the Arts Literature and Celtic Studies Award was Director of Poetry Ireland before being appointed Director of the Arts Council.
Maureen Kennelly has a long career in the arts sector where she has spearheaded many of our country’s vibrant arts organisations and her passion, dedication and vision have left a mark on our cultural landscape. She embodies the spirit of creativity, innovation and excellence that defines University of Galway’s values and is a worthy recipient of this year’s Arts, Literature and Celtic Studies Award.
