I really hope the bride picked the dress she fell in love with . She look so pretty in it and her mother has to realize it's not her wedding it's her daughter's . I wish this clip showed if the bride got the purple dress. She looked great in that style, and color. But given her Mom's reaction, I'm thinking it was a No. And that reaction was overly dramatic for a grown woman!

I think Mom was brought up believing that a bride wearing white is a symbol of virginity. Brides didn’t always wear white many, many years ago. Bridal dresses in colors are now acceptable and some brides are choosing colors such as pastel dresses. It may have been the deep color of the dress that bothered Mom. I was thinking they should have offered a white dress with a purple sash and both Mom and daughter would have been happy. .

I'm pretty sure it was Queen Victoria. She wore white to appear more pure and it became the fashion at the time, but has held in many countries.

I'm on the fence with this one...yes, the purple dress was gorgeous & yes, she should have been allowed to wear it. BUT, to me it looked like a prom dress, not a wedding dress. I'll betcha they left the salon w/o a dress, both sides hurting each other for not budging. In the end, I'll betcha the bride settled...
