Lol I forgot how to tie my belt right after the instructor told me how when I was a white belt and I just got my 1st degree black belt yesterday and I figured I would watch this to learn how to tie my belt again and it helped. Thank you

THANK YOU SO MUCH! This video is the best! None of the other videos (and I've watched a million of them!) showed the little fold at the start. I never could get the part underneath. With this little trick I've FINALLY managed to tie my belt perfectly on the first try! I love you!!

tysm, i’m a beginner and after days of trying, i couldn’t figure it out, and this video helped me a lot. now i don’t have to ask my teacher for help so many times anymore :-)
The butterfly knot is hard to learn, but once learned, like the patterns, impossible to forget! Great tutorial this has helped me perfect my belt knot as I try and progress from green belt, thanks for the upload :)

this helped so much, when i usually tied my belt, the last two pieces hanging were wonky. one was facing up and one faced down. also, the belt was a folded mess in the back. this fixed it though! now i can tie it right

I'm green belt too, it's a good belt I think as it marks the start of a new standard, no longer a beginner but an intermediate level martial artist who has the potential to become an advanced (red belt+) or expert (1st dan +) level student. I hope to get my blue belt by christmas that's my aim.

I remember when I took Taekwondo classes, I actually took it from a very reknown master of the field he was a 10th degree black belt who taught the Chilean army the art. He was very strict and would hit you with a practice katana if you weren't listening to him. I got to the high green before I had to quit because I moved. His teachings were so powerful that I hated every other instructor because they were subpar to his teachings and just dropped learning it.

Nobody in my dojo/academy back in the 90s could remember how to tie the black belt. The instructors we constantly correcting us. Most of us came close but couldn't quite finish it off. Now we have the help of youtube.

I always tie my belt like a tie after a normal knob. Works great, and the falling pieces are more in the middle which I prefer.
Im about to be a yellow belt in 9 days and this actually helped than the other videos

One question: Which side of the belt should be at the left and which side should be at the right? Based on last year's hanmadang, everyone tied the side with their names (also the side with the logo) on the left (all participants tied it that way if I didn't miss anyone) while this video shows that it is tied on the right. I've asked about it and the reply I've got was that the logo should be tied on the left, and some say that there's actually no correct side of tying the belt. Any comments?
In some versions of Taekwondo there are brown belts.It depends on if you are in Ata,Itf,Ita,Uta,Etc.
