"Pierogarnia" is the name of a place that specialises in making pierogi.
"Pierogarnia" is the best place to try/eat pierogi in Poland. "Pierogarnia" can be found everywhere in Poland - they are very simple looking like a regular eatery and so very fancy.
Not true, the best place to eat pierogi is grandma's house
@@jakubkotas589 depends on grandma's recipe
Rob - you and Charlie still need to taste normal sweet pierogi (boiled not baked) with fruit or cream cheese. Served with cream and sugar on top.
Go in summer and try some with blueberries or strawberry.
I recommend you also to try "knedle ze śliwkami". Some sort of dumplings - dough is made from flour and smashed potato.
Yes I agree. We actually thought they were going to be the sweet ones but when they arrived they weren't.
Watching this video made me feel so hungry...gosh.... the food looks so good ....I'm jealous...
Well it tasted incredible!
Amazing!
I visited Szczecin a few weeks ago and had local speciality pierogi (smoked mackerel and cod) and was also recommended to have a cup of barszcz and I never had it before.. was not expecting to love it as much as I did! Finished the whole cup and went back for a 2nd time a few days later!
Keep up the great polish content I am a big fan of your videos and poland! 🇵🇱❤️
Welcome in Szczecin 🇵🇱 ❤. Enjoy 😉. Greetings from Leicester 🇬🇧. Godbless.
Rob, Charlie enjoy your stay in Poland! I like your videos very much. 🙋❤️🙋❤️🙋❤️
Thank you!
The ending -(r)nia indicates that this is a place where something connected with the word's subject happens, like English -ry I suppose. For example, piekarnia - bakery (piec - to bake/stove), cukiernia - a place with sweets, especially baked sweets but not only (cukier is sugar), kawiarnia - cafe (kawa is coffee), zbrojownia - armoury (zbroja is an armour), that's why there is a name "Pierogarnia" -> a place where pierogi are :D.
Miło Cię widzieć ponownie w Polsce, a szczególnie we Wrocławiu! :)
Only the "kwiaciarnia" is missing - kwiaty/flowers.
Cheers!
@@rasmastav Indeed and probably many more :). I wrote the words that came to my mind already.
Red borscht with dumplings is my favourite soup. ❤
Finally, you had a chance to try good polish żurek and barszcz! Fun fact: there is also a soup which is called barszcz biały (white barszcz) which looks similar to żurek but has white sausage and egg, I usually eat it on Easter ;).
Barszcz biały (white) is my favourite one! amazing!
They did have Biały Barszcz too
Teraz ja jestem głodny! 😀😋👍
Me too, pyszne!
Hehe To samo chciałem napisać 😉
One of the best restaurants You can find in Wrocław! I often eat there with my girlfriend. Their tomato soup is one of the best i've eaten
There was a queue for a good reason!
It’s nice to see you in Poland. Have a nice Holidays and enjoy tasty Food 😊
Barszcz czerwony jest do pierogów 👍.
Żurek jest samą w sobie zupą. Barszcz czerwony jemy w Boże Narodzenie, żurek na Wielkanoc 😊
Maybe you. I eat żurek at Thursdays :D
I eat barszcz biały twice a month and sometimes my babcia's rosuł.
@@bartoszjasinskiI eat żurek whenever my mother needs to deliver some food to her 40-years-old son 🤣
A ja czerninę
@@BL-Q ale to na pewno od mamy? Nie od teściowej? 😉
Only blueberries or strawberry pierogi if you want sweet but boiled with sweet cream
Maybe you find time to wisit "szlak orlich gniazd" path of eagle nests, Małopolska region. Mountains, castles and lakes between them. And great food from highlands. If you have time of course. I can give a little help for proposal of places.
I'm so jealous now guys. I'm polish guy, left in London with english food... 😋😋😋 Again, Rob, great video. U R so entertaining person. Every video U do is just great. I dono why but I watch them all from the beginning to the end. And I wish they were longer. Great job Bro!!!
Thanks mate! And you can't beat a Yorkshire pudding with gravy!!
@@RobReacts1 Really? I can tell that polish boiling water can beat any engligh food... Not joking...
Sorry, just personall opinion...
I've never been there but heard about this place. Those potato pancakes and pierogi look and sound amazing! "Pierogarnia" means something like "pierogery", similar to "bakery" (polish - "piekarnia").
Oh yes, Pierogarnia is the one of my favourite place. You can visit Pierogarnia at all of polish cities. And this is awesome 😀
Cyder is not popular in Poland. It exist, but most people would either go with beer, wine or simply vodka. If we are not talking about drinks and cocktails, because these are also popular beverages in Poland. But if we are thinking of just plain alcohol drink, it's one of these three with beer being totally on top. Despite people drinking vodka much, it's rather more often that they drink beer. And I mean not be ml count, but by just how often they buy and drink one or another. People do drink wine, but at least not in my family, it's that often as vodka.
I love barszcz, especially with uszka. But I also love żurek. Żurek is probably very traditional/villagey, because of the sausage and eggs added. Something that is definitely our taste.
Placki ziemniaczane! That's yet another something that I can bet comes from village people, because it was quick and easy to make. Or maybe not exactly quick, but very simple. Main ingredient being potato and potato being vegetable of Poland, made it perfect for our ancestors. And I have to thank them for this amazing meal!
I like both boiled and pan fried pierogi. They are amazing in all shapes.
The weird shaped one... I have no idea what it is but I never seen anything like that in my life. I wonder what's this, tbh.
I am genuinely jealous of You right now. I would like to eat all these myself, haha.
Eh, tradition is dying in the nation, since no one has explained to you the difference between biały barszcz (white borscht) and żurek (sour soup). While the classic żurek (sour soup) is a soup made from fermented rye flour, the base of biały barszcz (white borscht) is fermented wheat flour. White borscht is lighter in hue, slightly sweeter than sour soup, although it still has a sour taste and is more easily digestible than żurek.
I'm glad you liked zurek Rob.This is also my favorite soup. I think that if you ate properly prepared bigos, you would like it too. You are a wonderful couple. Enjoy your stay in Poland.
You both are great ,all the Best for this New Year 2024
Polish dishes bought in a jar in a store are very different from those cooked at home. The ones in the jar are inedible to me.I have 3 favorite soups: cucumber soup- zupa ogórkowa, cabbage soup - kapuśniak and groats soup- krupnik, but I love źurek ❤
Yea market version of polish food is eidible but not supposed to keep for a long time in jar so its full of preservatives, unless we speak about pickles of any kind.
Ty kapuśniaku
Nice video and I am glad that you enjoyed so much! You should have had meeting with your fans! :3
I did last time in July but as I was taking my mum and step dad, plus being new years it would have been tricky
Smacznego
you are really great, are you in Poland right now?, I love this pierogarnia I've been there many times when i lived there ❤
Got home last night so not there anymore
Guys it's not difficult to get cider :)) in every larger supermarket and a liquor store there is apple and pear cider ( my fav) and sometimes several types. In big bottles :))
It is difficult in restaurants
Beet soup to balance sweet we give a spoon of vinegar or lemon juice to balance umami. ✌️
Welcom in Poland :)
*to Poland
welcome
To be! Kurwa. Or not to be .
"Welcome to Poland" bruh, but it's the thought that counts. ;)
The bready ones are like pastry, in Polish called paszteciki
They were incredible
You should fly to Gdańsk and try „pierogi z jagodami” or any other sweet kind of pierogi in MANDU restaurant!
Let me know when you're in Wrocław again. I would drop you a few bottles of home made cider from my own apples 😉 but I make only dry cider 😉
I Got hungry. Thank you guys 😅
Haha go get some pierogi
- I don't have a fork!
**gets a fork**
**proceeds eating with hands**
😂
Haha Charlie is funny!
Mniam mniam!! You makes me hungry.😊Smacznego!😊😊😊
Welcom in Poland.Good luck !!!
I think this is beautiful Wroclaw??? Enjoy. Greetings from Leicester. Godbless.
Was hoping to see you try pierogi with sauerkraut and mushrooms ;)
Haha that wasn't an option on this dish
@@RobReacts1 my top 1.ruskie ( stuffing potatoes and white cheese, salty with onion) , 2.with sauerkraut and mushrooms and we also eat them at Christmas, 3. with meat and 4. sweet with white cheese or with various fruits, best with strawberries or blueberries. Of course, there have been MANY modern versions of pierogi with various stuffing, but these 4 are pierogi that have been eaten in our country since forever
Crime . How it wasn't @@RobReacts1
I wish you a nice weekend in Poland. I hope you have a great time
MMM my favorite dumplings are with meat!😁it's a pity that you were in Poland for such a short time. A bit off topic, but I love this language. In Poland, British English is mainly taught in all public and private schools, using mainly Oxford books. Although American English is also presented for comparison. American English is softer and more fluent. And the British one is tougher , just like Polish one is tougher. That's why i love British English. Only the original is worth something. As an actor said in a Polish film, there is only one Poland, so i will say that there also is only one Britain-protect your language, accent and culture. One of my favorite British songs by one of my favorite English bands is a song played in Poland by this band. I have been in love with this performance for several years. Beautiful, puree, perfect British English. Listen for Yourself "New Hope Club i Carla Fernandes - "Know Me Too Well" I The Voice Kids Poland 3""
nice to see you in Poland🍺
I,m so glad you enjoyed that
Glad you enjoyed your meal
Hello Rob.Thanks for great video. What do You think about Poles -Do they know how to prepare tasty pierogi😊?.Best wishes from Poland😝!Enjoy your free time, have a great 2024!

Welcome to my country ❤️ love from Norwich ✨
Poland has the best apples in the world, such as Łoncko, whole tracts of land for an apple orchard, and delicious real juices, not from concentrates.
They make amazing cider

Hi Rob.

Great place
Good to know you enjoyed żurek this time ;)
It was so good
Be careful what Poles recommend, we often make fun of visitors :) Be sure to still check out Maczanka in Krakow, Flaki in Warsaw and good Zurek wherever you are, but I suggest Zurek in Silesia :) Tasty our brother!

@@RobReacts1 ok. sounds good 👍
I had a great time exploring different places and trying polish food.
This żurek might be better than the first one but there's also possibility that you - as partly Pole already😉 - simply got used to Polish food 😀
W sam raz kiedy nie jem węglowodanów 🥺 🤤
I recomended barszcz with pierogi ruskie 😎
Baba Jaga😮😅
I'm confused
Rob and Charlie, now you've tried Pierogarnia, are you coming back to the UK at all...?
Haha unfortunately we came home last night
OMG , I am hungry now !
Well I was stuffed!
So fast
👍
I love żurek
Cydr !!!
I am hungry...
Holly shit i have to visit this place , you make me hunger
You must!
Przede wszystkim, kolego nic złego w Polsce ci się nie zdarzy. Polska na razie to, spokojny kraj zasobny w licznych dobrej woli ludzi.
Bo zurek to musi byc zurek..zero wynalazkow w nin Zakwas, ziemniaki ,czisnek, majeranek Kielbasa badz skwareczki a nie cuda wuanki
Wtf? How is it hard to get cider in Poland? Cydr Lubelski is practically in every store, and there are a lot of other brands that you can get if you look a bit in alcohol section. I do not understand the problem here.
I mean more in pubs and restaurants
@@RobReacts1 True. Restaurants and pubs are more concentrated on traditional wine and beer, but that changes as more and more restaurants introduce cydr to the menu. Cydr was not popular years ago, beer dominated the market and for the wine... Years ago good wine was very expensive and as for the cheap wine there were fruit wines that forcefully aged with sulfides (that are present in normal wines as well), popular name given to this kind of wines is Jabol. One of the producers even named their own cheap young wine as "Chateo de Jabol".
Rob ! It's your fault, I got hungry and I'm gonna put on weight again.
Haha
JAK SIE NAZYWA FRANCUSKI BAR SERWUJĄCY DUŻO PIEROGÓW ?

Why did you choose Poland? There are many different countries in the world.
Because Poland is awesome!
@@RobReacts1 We Poles have a very rich history and we have done a lot to keep Europe together. Watch the material about Wojtek the teddy bear participating in the second WW.
I miss snow , we ve got 11 degrees in London and rain since I remember 🙂
Yea I wish there was snow while we were there this weekend
Kocham Was. Wy to już jesteście nasi ;)
Hehe moherze, nie tobie decydować
😂😂😂😂 skip😅
And I miss some proper English grub.
I may be different but eating the stuff someone bit is gross for me
I dont like concept of pierogi with meat. Sure it can be good. But this is waste of pierogi. You can do so much, there is infinite potential. But you just stuff it with minced meat and call it a day. Its like making pizza put tomatoe sauce, tomatoe, ham. And thats all.
I do not eat this, not my part of Poland, I think I am not part of Poland at all but being occupied like Northern Ireland. Visit UPPER Silesia and their cuisine. Not Wroclaw, in there only those who were resettled from far east of Poland live, they were moved there after reshaping borders, and escape of Germans. They are descendants of those from Lviv or Rovne, now Ukraine.
Po 2 Wojnie Światowej, kiedy zmieniono granicę, z "niemieckich" ziem przepędzono Niemców albo raczej sami odeszli, a w to miejsce zjeżdżali Polacy zza Buga. Masz z tym jakiś problem? Ja jestem potomkiem takich Polaków, urodzonym już tutaj na Dolnym Śląsku i czuję się Polakiem. A Górny Śląsk to obecnie Polska. Jeśli masz z tym problem, to użyj swojego niemieckiego paszportu i nara, bo zapewne go masz.
Could your wife talk slower please 😀
I didnt realise she was talking fast
Charlie doesn't speak fast. This always happens when you don't know the language well. Then you simply don't know the words and you don't know where the beginning and end of each word are, so it seems to you that someone speaking very fast. That's what happened to me when i didn't understand English. I was wondering why the British speak so fast. Rob has the same problem with the Polish language, he thinks that Poles speak quickly because he can' t find the beginning and end of each word in sentence. Anyone who knows a language does not think that someone speaks fast.
@@AngelikaCiurej Thank you for explaining but I know the language quite well, cause I live in the UK 16 years, I didn't mean to be nasty I just found out that she was talking a bit faster than Rob and her accent is completely different to where I live (south Yorkshire). Happy new year and enjoy your journey while visiting Poland 😀
