- Formula One, abbreviated to F1, is the highest class of open-wheeled auto racing defined by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), motorsport's world governing body. The "formula" in the name refers to a set of rules to which all participants and cars must conform. Each year, the F1 World Championship season is held. It consists of a series of races, known as Grands Prix, held usually on purpose-built circuits, and in a few cases on closed city streets. Drivers are awarded points based on their finishing position in each race, and the driver who accumulates the most points over each championship is crowned that year's World Drivers' Champion. As of the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, there have been 775 Formula One drivers from 41 different nationalities who have raced in at least one of the 1,101 FIA World Championship races since the first such event, the 1950 British Grand Prix.
Seven-time champions Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton hold the record for the most championships. Hamilton also holds the record for the most wins with 103, the most pole positions with 104, the most points with 4639.5, and the most podiums with 197. Fernando Alonso has entered more Grands Prix than anyone else (380) and also holds the record for the most Grand Prix starts (378). The United Kingdom is the most represented country, having produced 163 drivers. Ten countries have been represented by just one. China became the latest country to be represented by a driver when Zhou Guanyu made his Formula One debut at the 2022 Bahrain Grand Prix driving for Alfa Romeo. The most recent driver to make their Formula One debut is Liam Lawson, who debuted at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix. - Sport
1st, 2nd and 3rd are Italians drivers ... however 147 dnfs are insane!
what an horrible career lol
Three Italians at 3 top spots, this is absolutely beautiful.
Great video Tommy!
It's incredibly amazing how Hamilton and Vettel have less than 50 DNFs! This goes on to show you how much more reliable modern F1 cars are! If Hamilton and Vettel had the same amount of DNFs as all these drivers in the past, do you think they'd be as successful as they had become?
Only italians are capable of reaching 100+ DNFs, of course😂😂
Because of the car’s reliability.Italy has the best teams and drivers in F1.The British dont come close.
@@Michael-Bobby Clearly false given that Britain has been the most successful nation in F1
@@Alexander_Snowdenmaybe in drivers but not in teams
How did surtees snatch a title with over 50% dnf rate :o
And Maldonado?
Ось чому замість Сайнса запросили Бермана, а не Джовінацці. І ось чому Тото Вольф вагається щодо варіанту із Кімі Антонеллі 😊
Fernando is the only one still on the grid today
Por culpa de McLaren Honda...
No Lewis Hamilton on this list?
or vettel
That's because they raced in the modern era whereby the cars were much more reliable. Nico Rosberg and Max Verstappen are also not on this list
Mclaren honda 2015-2018
Alpine.
Those are part of the new era?
