@@nicwilliamson そうですかね。LDOCEにはwithout planが主な意味に書いてあり、そもそも思いつきって意味ですね。自発的だけど計画的なのはspontaneousじゃないということ。500m穴掘って脱獄するのはspontaneousとは言えないw 完全に「自発的」だけど道具揃える準備が要るので。 youglishでもwithout thinkingと言う文脈で使われるのが多数。
どれも辞書では知っていても、実際の使用方法は知らない単語ばかりでした！今度使ってみます😆😆また他の単語も教えてください！

スポンティニアスは、大体「自発的な」って辞書とかに書いてあって、は？ちげえだろ…ってなる代表例ですよね。
これは、「自然と湧き上がってくるような」というのが正解だと思う。わざとらしくない、あたかも自然な成り行きでそうなってしまったかの様な、という意味です
今回もとても役に立つコンテンツ、ありがとうございます！spontaneousは機転が利く、spontaneouslyは機転を利かせて、なんてどうでしょうね。

あったとしても普段聞かない単語だと思います。
適当な表現が見つからない、といったニックさんの感覚がネイティブに近いと思います。
無理に作ると、教科書的な 「文法は正しいが実生活で聞かない文章」になりますね。
（日本人が作る教科書英語もそんな感じ？）
日本語だとこういう言い方はせず、「（彼は）いつもサプライズ（を用意）してくれる」
「いつも新しいところに連れてってくれる」みたいに言うのが普通かな～と思います
もう少しくだけると、感情を揺さぶってくれることから「（彼は）なんかエモい」くらいの説明になってしまいそう。
そうですね、無理に訳さない方がいいですね👍
「いつも新しいことをしている」「ワンパターンじゃない」など、普通に言った方がいいかもしれないですね。

Spontaneousを聞いて、Laid-backのことを思い出しました。Laid-backもよく使うけど、なかなか日本語訳にするのが難しくないですか？どちらもdescribing a person's characteristicsするときの言葉で、ポジティブなシチューエーションにしか使わないけど、日本語に直訳するとネガティブの意味になるので、ちょうどいい訳がないんですよね

その解決に「固まりで覚える」というのがありましたが、本日のこの英語では、固まり以上の配列でやって来ます。
・単語を捕まえるのが難しい
・単語の意味が瞬間に出て来ない
ずっとこの繰り返しをしている感じです。話される英語がその瞬間分かる様になるまで、数万光年掛かりそう。どうしたらいいんでしょう。この問題。新しいフレーズを覚えても、光の速さで流れて行くその語を捕まえるのが至難です😢
0.2秒くらいで言われて、意味まで分かる。しばらく聞いてなかったフレーズならもうほぼ無理な。その時々のリンキングなどが合わさると更に。どうすればいいんでしょう。

一部で英語発音には声を低くしようとか発声を変えようとか言われてたりするけど、英語ネイティブ日本語ネイティブクラスのNicさんを聞いてる限り英語でも日本語でも特に声が変わらないあたり、やっぱ関係ありませんね〜
声を高くしただけで英語の発音が悪く聞こえることもないし、低くするとか発声だけで発音が勝手によくなることもない。大体高いだけで悪くなるなら歌えないし。喉発音()

やっぱり変わる「こともある」ですね、発音をよくした「結果」変わることはあっても、喉をどうこうするだけで発音がよくなることはない。
ちなみにspontaneous collabなんてのもありますよね。日本語だと突発コラボとかって言ってるっぽいです。
