Camping at Scenic High Country Lake in Yosemite | Catch & Cook at Young Lakes

- My friends Tommy and Jason join me for a backpacking adventure to the Young Lakes in the Tuolumne high country. We'll be fighting off the mosquitoes for most of the trip, but the views and fishing make it all worth it. We'll also enjoy some Trout as we catch and cook our dinner.
The Tuolumne area has proven time and time again to be my favorite area in Yosemite National Park and I'm glad I got to share my experience with a couple buddies!

Did young lakes July 4th for a few nights a few years ago and they weren't too bad. It all depends on how damp the ground is. Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Yeah I understood that the bugs are always really bad during May and June. The thing I messed up with is not having gloves. Other than that I would have been good to go. Thank you for watching!

Did you do young lake via dog lake or young lake via glen aulin trail
We started via Dog Lake and returned through Glen Aulin. I recommend this counter clockwise "loop"
I know you've got your net for the mosquitos, but would any amount of spray help against that many mosquitos? I dont know if itd be less annoying than the net olus having to wear long sleeves and pants all the time.
In my opinion, spray helps with preventing most bites and can keep the mosquitoes a little further away from you. But a head net, long sleeve/pants, and gloves will do a better job at preventing any bites. And shoes of course. I've heard some of the mosquitoes in Alaska could care less if you have bug spray on or not. You can only ward off those mosquitoes with 100 "deet" spray (deet is the main repellent in bug spray)
