It's not often you have the opportunity to acquire an art piece as well as a home. The second floor of 112 Prince Street is a true contemporary masterpiece crafted by world renowned photographer, director and conceptual artist Michael Somoroff and acclaimed architect Stephen Wanta. Available for the first time in 25 years, this work of art is one of the most singularly unique properties, not only in Soho, but in all of NYC. Situated on the corner of Prince and Greene Streets, this floor through keyed elevator loft overlooks the classic architecture that defines the Cast Iron district and boasts an abundance of irreplaceable authentic details including restored wooden-beam ceilings, cast iron columns, wooden framed windows and 13 foot ceilings heights.
Sitting at an impressive 36' feet wide, the landmarked Cast Iron building lends itself perfectly to house this conceptual loft, expressing the tale of two distinct design periods. Upon entering the home you are greeted with dramatic sculptural volumes and and expansive great room showcasing 6 oversized wooden framed windows bathing the loft in all day light.
The living and dining space is designed in a post-modern style with impressive floor-to-ceiling sculptural volumes, individually crafted in Italian Marmoline by artisans on-site. These volumes flank an architecturally notable perimeter around the dining room, kitchen, and expansive entertaining area to the northern point of the loft. Raised gently to provide a stage for social gatherings and offer additional storage, the 'stage' is set in front of the impressive library and expertly designed home office. Adjacent to the great room is the dining room and eat-in-kitchen outfitted with best in class appliances, an incredible amount of storage and an abundance of counter-space.
Following the natural geometric flow of the lofts design, you head to the Southern portion of the loft where you will find the laundry room and keyed elevator entrance. Flowing into a more classical design style, the primary bedroom features an en-suite bathroom, standing shower, deep soaking jacuzzi tub and plenty of space to live out your artistic dreams in the heart of Soho.
Additional features include central air conditioning, common roof deck for residents and additional storage in the basement.

Soooo am i the only person who would take all that weird stuff out? Kitchen gone, hallway gone, bathrooms gone. The only thing worth saving is the bookshelf in the living room. It looks like a 90s Tim Burton Movie.

Haha.. I'd do the same. It's too specific to an individual's liking. Nothing wrong with that, just not my style

What's the point? There's plenty of similar spaces that don't have all that stuff, that you can buy and not spend a ton to remodel.

@@brianbaratheon Ha! Well, this channel and thus this video is geared to real estate, would-be buyers, and enthusiasts. With anything, art criticism is subjective and expected. I critiqued and posed a question to see if anyone else felt the same way. 17 others did. So... I guess you are just the troll here sir

Wonderful loft, but enough with the word salad. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one that loves the bones of that apartment and would rip out what’s been added and start again.

Fascinating if you live in an apartment in New York. And it is truly a unique feat, surely. Traveling to North, West or East Africa, or the high regions of South Asia and looking at small spaces and seeing the type of architecture displayed in these small spaces… profound beauty and sublime craftsmanship.

Sometimes, it only takes a few seconds to realize that you're being asked to play the fool, by taking an earful of sh*t through someone who believes their insanity is truth.

An astounding idea and execution with so much thought and values placed into the walls. It's an incredible place but I feel also requires someone who agrees with and shares the vision to live in.

The problem with bespoke design, layout and decor is that the more unusual the place is, the more limited the likely pool of interested buyers. While I appreciate the love that went into this place, it does not appeal to me at all. The only way I'd buy it, is with the intent of gut renovating.

"the proposition that we could build and live in environments that promote truth, love, and the magic of being part of creation" come on....how could you say this about an apartment with a straight face? it's not fucking versailles lmao

Very particular vision… A waste of money and time. It’s difficult to sell a real estate like that, and if so, the next owner won’t pay for that neither will keep it as it is. Most probably It’ll be turned down and rebuilt from the ground. I don’t blame him. Few people like to leave on a stage day after day. Sorry if I disagree with U, Mr. Owner…that’s not a “contribution to the world”, it is only yr ego on display.
