  • I've had this ice machine for about 3 years. These things work great, but, you'll want to keep them clean! In this video I show how I clean my ice maker. This will work for basically any brand.

I have tried this on my machine multiple times. Never worked :( . But, even if it does that, still use vinegar! Pushing water through does not destroy the mold. Add vinegar and run that, scrub as I did in this video. Basically do the same thing I did in this video, but also run the cleaning cycle if your machine will go into it.

I have a Frigidaire that is about 1.5 yrs old. It has started to stop after half a basket of ice. The red light comes on, saying I need to add water. It has water, I've cleaned the fins of dust, blew the hose & both locations where the hose connects. Cleaned with vinegar/water... I watched the water travel through hose into tray... so I know it isn't plugged. Might it be I need a new pump!?

If I'm going away for more than 2 days, I drain it. If 2 days or less, I often just leave it running.
I left mine full once a few years back for a week vacation. And turned off. It got moldy. I admit I added some bleach and it cleaned up nice. I took it outside and sprayed it out a LOT. Then I filled it, ran it, drained it, and repeated that many times, before using again. It was sparking clean again though.
