The toothbrush part was hilarious 😂 😂😂
I love ice; I live on ice; I DEPEND on ice. Seriously, it helps me regulate my body temperature year-round. But, sadly, the fridge in my studio apartment rental not only does not have an icemaker but also no room to store a small amount of frozen foods AND ice.
I've been researching countertop versions, but the prices, while understandable, are off-putting. So how happy was I to find someone in my apartment building had set out a portable countertop icemaker for disposal!
I haven't run it yet, but decided first to check for any useful videos to handle cleaning, maintenance, & repair, since the icemaker I found did not come with an instruction manual. Which brought me to this video. Clear, concise, easy to understand, and the tip to use filtered water was particularly useful. Should be obvious, but who really thinks that deeply about a convenience appliance? Thankfully, YOU did.
I'm very glad to have found this, and I've saved the site to my Favorites file. Thank you so much!
Sweet Jesus I knew somebody would make a video that I could understand on how to do this. Thank you thank you! 😀❤️
Another PRO TIP, if I may. I used MY OWN toothbrush and they All leave my ice alone lol !! COOL VIDEO !!
😊😂
😂😂😂
Man thanks I just discovered were to place the ice scooper 👍

I love the commentary on this video! This helped me figure out how to clean my ice maker and also put a smile on my face. I never knew that ice making could be so fun. I'm gonna go show that ice maker who's the boss now!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I've had the ice maker for like 5 months and never cleaned it. Noticed the ice left my water tasting bad. Discovered just now it's got brown crap in the bottom, like a biofilm or something. Going to head to the store shortly to get the vinegar and spray bottle 👌👌👌👌
Thank you for the video!!!
Excellent video! It does everything right. The narrator has a pleasant voice and very entertaining. Also very informative! Calm and soothing demonstrations paired with matching music. Thank you very much.
Thank yiou so much for the light-hearted and humerous approach. It made the video so much more pleasant. I, too, now know where the scoop goes!
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a great narrator. One of my favourites, now. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!!
You are hilarious and I'm so glad I watched this. Very very helpful. Anyone who did thumbs down has no sense of humor, no appreciation for someone trying to give of their time for free or is just a hater, maybe all three. 😁 Thanks for sharing
Holy moly! Fancy seeing you here! That’s so weird! Hope things are going well for you & yours! Luv ya, sweet friend! 🎶It’s a small world after all!🎶
Haha o laughed at your comment Debbie hope you have an amazing Christmas
And I just saved myself a hundred and fifty buckssss!
Thank you for the video. It occurred to me I did not get a book that told me anything about how to clean my new icemaker. I found your video and now I am a pro. Thank you very much.
Great video. Thanks for taking the time to walk us through it!
Hey thanks, great video !
If I can give a extra tip for tough black mold, I just cleaned the ice make at my workplace, it was actually really gross, full of mold and orange deposit. I did a few batch with vinegar but it would not remove the mold. What I did is : put some vinegar solution in a spray bottle and using a jet spray. The jet was strong enough to remove 90% of all mold. Using my fingers, I could reach of what was left of it and now it's really clean !
Awesome video. I’m so silly, I didn’t know it had a drain plug underneath. I unplugged and carried it over to the kitchen sink and turned upside down. 🤦🏽♀️
Mine is over 4 years old and had never been descaled. Eeeeeeew! I had bleached it a few times. Working great! Thanks again. 👍🏽

Don't feel bad I didn't know either.
Sameeeee 😂 when he said the drain plug underneath I was like wait what 🤔😆🤷🏼♀️
I didn't know about the drain plug, nor did I know where it was located until I read your comment, Shannon Merriman. :)
Me neither
Thank you so much! I was cleaning mine now & the toothbrush hack just saved mine ☺️
I love this guy's extra info and funny comments......good times
Glad you enjoyed😊👍❤
This was SO FREAKING CUTE and entertaining. LOVE IT!!!! Thank you!!!
Thanks for the great info! Enjoyed your humor too. 😊
Finally someone that has explanation that make sense for maintenance thanks , probably could use CLR the type used to descale coffee pots ! The instruction that come with the Frigidaire brand sold at Costco are worthless and very vague about how often should we clean them !
short simple and to the point, Well Done Thank you:)
Great video! Love the humor. Makes it less boring! Thank you for your help!
Love your commentary! And the video was very helpful too. Need to clean mine up as it was quite musty smelling, even though the ice still tasted fine.
Perfect! This is exactly the info I needed today! Thank you so much!
This is amazing! Thank you! I especially loved the humor sprinkled into the video.
Thanks for the reminder. I will go descale my NewAir Clear Ice Maker. I usually clean it once a month but its time to descale this machine!
Great video and handy tips. After cleaning I dry mine as best I can then put a tray of calcium chloride in to dry the rest up and prevent mold when the lid is closed during storage.
Thank you for a great, informative, and entertaining video! Not tedious and boring like others I have seen.
i love the Pro ti for the tooth brush choice!!! this video is very helpful
The commentary was freaking awesome. Made the video that much funnier 😭
thank you!!! ❤😊👍
This whole video is hilarious
I like this video, he gets right to the point and no wasted time
THANK YOU SO MUCH !!! I HAD NO IDEA HOW TO DO THIS, BUT THANKS TO YOU, NOW, I DO !!! AGAIN, MANY, MANY THANKS !!
Thanks so much for the tutorial! I had a lot of fun watching and you gave me confidence that it was easy and I could do it. I really appreciate your help! 😊
Thank you for this video! I will be back in business in time for the weekend
I love your video! I just got my ice machine last week and it is still in the box because I'm not going to use it fresh ftom the factory. I need to clean the inside first. This is the perfect solution and you are so humorous that you made me laugh out loud! 😂 Super useful and charming video!
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and tips!
Thanks. Unfortunately, I cleaned it the hard way the first time, but now I know better, so thanks for the wise advice.
"Pro tip" that's great ,😂. This video was really helpful, thanks
Amazing. I was sure it involved some costly cleaner to purchase but not so. Easy to follow directions and fast solution to problem. Thank you!!!
Thanks for the toothbrush/cotton swab tip...brilliant. it's so hard to clean the tubes thoroughly with just a cloth.
Happy to help!😊❤👍
I greatly appreciated this video. Thank you very much!😊
Thank you - needed it. Love ice
Very useful video! Hopefully this will prevent our current icemaker from quitting like the first one did. Thanks for the info!
Did you use filtered water in your 1st 1 and how long did the 1st 1 last at a curiosity
@@joydarling314 we've always used bottled water for ours. I think the first one lasted about a year, and the one we have now is almost 2 years old. Decent lifetime for the price, in my opinion. Hope that helps!
I just tried this, it worked! I even used this method on my Keurig and that also worked too😄
Totally enjoyed watching this!!! Informational and funny!!
i thank you also for putting this video out here. my igloo has been working great for a couple of years now only bad thing was it's not self cleaning and the manual had no cleaning instructions.i cleaned the reservoir and ice container but didnt know what to do for the rest of it. i was going to pitch it. even bought a200.00 nugget making machine. it worked all of 3 hours slowly spitting out 2 cups of ice (.that were nuggets but hard as rocks)then decided it was done.it was running. had cold water in it. cool room. but it sure wasnt giving up any ice. i did a return on that sad machine , got on here . i figured others mst have the same question..so tyty. now i can have clean soft bullet ice and save my 200!!
Absolutely loved your video, informative and funny!! Thanks
Thank you for this!
Very good video short and sweet into the point!
I think this might be the best tutorial ever. This guy cracked me up AND taught me something. I suggest having a couple of drinks before watching this. 😅🤣
Same here. 😄

🎉🎉🎉whos the boss for sure
Your ice is so clear!!! beautiful :) great vid :)
you are the best and have helped a lot. thought i had to take it apart to clean it.
Show that ice maker who’s the boss!!!
Super video. Thank you.
Great video 😂 very easy to understand and entertaining 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
That was a great cleaning video, I love the humor
Thanks for this. We’ve owned our countertop ice maker for years w/o doing any cleaning whatsoever. I’m actually surprised it still works. That said, the main reason I wanted to comment was, the ratio of vinegar/water you recommend (50/50) is a lot stronger than a ratio I found elsewhere (10 parts water, 1 part vinegar). As much calcium floating around our reservoir, we’re going to need the strong solution & yes, we’ve been using well water exclusively. Not that anyone asked but, we’ve had the water tested, it’s safe to drink. It’s also a fairly deep (180’) well
You for sure have been ingesting tons of mold if you haven't cleaned in years. Black mold. Dangerous for your Lungs!

I own this product I clean it once a week works great really like this product best ice maker I’ve owned yet. I openly use bottled water nothing else
Great tips - Thanks man!
Thanks for this information
How do you clean the part the hold the water that the rods are submerged into to make the ice? We have one like this at work and it is filthy.
Run the vinegar and water solution through a few times, then just water
@@sherrieshepard523 Thanks this is what I was trying to find out if I could run the solution without hurting the evaporating fingers 🙂
It's so hard to clean that bucket🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️😡😡😡
@@flyygurrll used the flat cosmetic cotton pads and a skewer to get in there good with vinegar solution. Used a toothbrush to scrub the inside. Good as new
Same!! We just noticed it has slime right under where the ice is formed!! It’s disgusting. And had to be very unhealthy.
Love your video and your sense of humor!
thanks 👍😊
You saved my ice machine!!
Awesome
Thanks! I've been wrecking my brain on how to clean my favorite appliance ever! Awesome I really appreciate it
Can you tell me what will make the ice maker to stop working?
@@lindairving4368 i have no idea it could be several things maybe search your problem on CZcams or google?
This was super helpful and hilarious at the same time. Thumbs up
Glad you liked it!👍😊
Awesome tutorial!
Im logged in on my sons account 🙄, but THANK YOU for this video!! It answered ALL my questions, and I LOVE the tip about the spray bottle and using my spouse's toothbrush (he he 😉). Much appreciation; you have a new fan! Thanks again, Courtney Harper 💜
Glad it was helpful!
there is still build up in our ice maker that a toothbrush or even a straw brush won't reach. any suggestion. we've done everything else in your video
Thank u so much for this tutorial
You are hilarious!😂 Thanks for the tip.
Love the narration
I thought there was a filter built in mine so never thought about cleaning it til I noticed some spots. Found this video and am on the right track now, I love my ice maker!!
I love the humor!!
You get a thumbs up for the info and I wish I could give another one for the entertaining narration. 😂
Thanks for the video, very informative and love the attitude, made me laugh this early morning.
Very good this one was best for me thank you
LOVE IT!! I needed the laugh too! Thank you so much! Grabbing my husband's toothbrush now 🤣
thank goodness there are videos like yours i just bought this thing and needed to know how to clean it proper... did not get the self cleaning one.. thanks again
Great to hear!😁😁
I do this and I use my bissell steamshot to get the tight spaces and screws. :-) I personally clean mine once a week, that may not be necessary but hey its clean. Lol... great video thank you for sharing
Nice idea to use the steamer! 😊
Finally that's one I think will actually work all of these others don't seem to show you how to clean up in those tight areas and I'm sorry the top of that little parts that put the ice and has yellow junk growing on it and you cannot reach it with two brushes baby cleaners Q-tips or anyting else but my steam machine will definitely work thank you you should do a video I would definitely give you a thumbs up I broke my first ice maker just because I wanted it clean
Any suggestion for mold?
@@ziautumn Throw it away and buy a new one!
Very nice. Thank you.

Saved. I have one I've not made ice in for a year or more now, so I need to clean. I did not use enough vinegar, so will re do that part
