How to get the board up to speed in marginal winds or when you're slightly underpowered is a key skill for windsurfers! It's also very transferable to getting into the straps in normal conditions and improving you general blasting control.
As usual the Ride-Along session is brought through a combination of live on-board cameras and microphones, as well as some pre-recorded demos to add some clarification.

Kit used... a mix of Point-7 sails, mainly the Spy, ACX and F1e.
Boards vary too, starboard tends to be my "go-to" for kit, but also RRD a lot too.
Audio recorded on InstaMic
Filmed on a mix of Insta360 OneR & GoPro Max
Mixture of camera mounts including Fly Mount and Sail Video System
Special thanks to Point 7 sails, Starboard Windsurf & Sungod.

Definitely the best tutorial I've seen!!!
Once more, the best tutorial video out there! Congrats!
Very nice indeed. A very common mistake seems to be, that many sailors try to get planning while navigating across the wind or worse, slightly upwind even. That would require a lot more wind ...
Best windsurf instructor I've ever seen 🤙
Awesome, just what I was hoping for!
Can't get enough of this awesome on board action! It helps a lot to improve skills in marginal conditions....Nothing like planing in the breeze...and get cold beers after....
Really appreciate your time mate, very useful tips!! 👍 👍 👍 👍
Awesome videos, best windsurfing tutorials I’ve encountered! I think you deserve at least tenfold the number of subscribers, but in the end the most important is of course to provide value to the viewers no matter if the format is ”selling”or not. I will for sure watch all your videos now that the season is soon starting here up the north. Thanks a lot! 😁👍
Another great video - thanks again
Thanks! Great for live lesson.
Excellent material!! Thanks you so much!
I’ve just got back into windsurfing after a 15 year break. These videos are fantastic. I now realise how many things I’ve been doing wrong and why others were flying past me.
Thanks again for the really helpful tips in this vid, I’m a uk inland windsurfer so more often than not the wind is marginal at best at my nearest sailing spot. I find that rigging with a fair amount of belly in the sail can sometimes help power up in light conditions. If the wind picks up I add a bit more outhaul. Cheers, I really love your clear instructional videos.
Good training. I like the idea of these ride along sessions. Good point re not getting in the back strap necessarily if the wind speed is moderate. I tend to just go for both and then have to get out of both when it doesn't work.
Awesome video Cookie, always amazed how clean the audio is!
Have found...😉...very helpfull this little details you show us. Thanks a lot
Enjoying your videos, very good explanations of the minor details which make all the difference between planing and not planing, losing height or not. Interesting that there are many different opinions about getting in the front footstrap. I get into it usually (on my futura) when the board just starts planing, because when doing it before my board will rear and can’t find the speed. However I’m now in gusty and choppy Fuerte on a JP MagicRide and it feels a bit uncontrolled to get in late. On this board riding with the foot in before planing feels possible. When I get in with a gust coming and bear away a bit the planing starts.
Thx this will increase performance.
You already mention board and sail size, thank you. I think that is very important so one can compare to own gear. Could you also mention the wind speed in your videos? That would help for choosing gear, knowing what you can or cannot do in specific winds.
Great videos. Please do one on planning up wind.
