    I can't thank you enough for this video! Another dealership actually has a $600 install cost and I had a feeling it was off! There's an excellent reason your establishment has such an amazing reputation! I feel confident in being able to do this myself now...

    Solid demo, but DO A LIGHT CHECK before you head out. Just cause the cable is fitted doesn't mean the trailer lights are working.

    We are picking our 25GT next week and are very excited. I understand that you also carry Blue Ox. They have the sway pro, which incorporates a chain system, but I understand that they now also have one similar to the Equalizer called Trackpro. I take it you also offer this model and was curios what your thoughts are between these two.

      Paul, we carry the Regular Equalizer and Blue ox, you can chose between either model when you arrive.

    Hi Chris I don’t know if this is a silly question or not is there anything special to unhooking the trailer do you use the same tool to take the pressure off of the bars I’ve never done it that’s why am asking and thank you for the video it was very good

      Yes, the toll can be used as a prybar to remove the bar from the perch.

    Great demo. Is there a part number for the breakaway cable with the accordion leash & carabiner? Tks.

    What brand of hitch system is this? It's the exact one that came with my pre-owned Airstream and I'd like to know which one we own.

    Thanks Chris. What is the difference between hookup to a truck or car with tow package vs. without. I have heard you have to take the taillight off the car, for example. If I buy a pickup truck specifically with a tow package does it make that easier to get the brake lights working on the trailer. Pardon my ignorance here!

    • @colonialairstream
      @colonialairstream  Před 3 lety +2

      The tow vehicle used will have to be compatible for towing the trailer being pulled. It will also need a class III or IV hitch receiver, 7-way wiring harness with 12V charge lead and you will need an electric brake controller.

    Just bought an Airstream and truck, did the hookup and towed down the road and back. My power hitch failed on the second time using it, where it now doesn't make any noise when pressing the extend or retract button. Any suggestions as to what the most common issue is with that? Grounding or Fuse with the Airstream?

    Can I send you pics of my setup something missing. Bought equilizer used 6000 having issues on Ccd16. There are no holes drilled. L brackets move on frame after awhile on road make loud noises because shifting angle. Backing into camp site have remove bars first.

      We would recommend consulting with the company you purchased the hitch from or the Manufacturer. I hope the video was helpful.

    I was hoping you would talk about the tow vehicle itself. It appeared to be a diesel 3/4 ton Chevy?

    This looks a lot easier than some videos I've seen where there's all sorts of measurements on the TV to get things properly adjusted. Also, similar directions for doing all these measurements in the Ford Towing Guide. Does this have to do with have this specific Equalizer Hitch? Thanks.
