I love how clear that Azumi sounds (I currently play on an Altus but mine has a V-Cut head joint) and I love how you play Handel ( I'm not too familiar with Handel's flute sonatas but I know that William Bennett is a champion of those Sonatas).

Thanks for the compliment! I agree that the Azumi has a very clear sound! Altus is also a great flute brand - are you happy with yours? P.S. I put a link to this sheet music in the description box below the video :)

Bevani Flute I love my Altus because the mechanism is a lot lighter than my previous flute ( my previous flute was a Gemeinhardt 3OSB) and I feel like I get more tone colors on my Altus than I could on my Gemeinhardt (I play on an Altus 1107)😃❤️

The Azum Z3i is my choice as well, excellent sound for the price. You play it so well!

I don't get it why people tend to buy expensive beginner flutes. For the same price you would get a partially handmade Altus flute (Model 807). The content of silver doesn't matter. What matters is the quality of craftsmanship. I vote for skipping the so called intermediate flutes, as they are holding you back!

Nightingale I wish more people would get this. You are right on.

Azumi is handmade head joint and machine made body, all Altus flute are 100% handmade this is why an azumi with 100% silver head and body cost less of around 800USD from the cheapest Altus 807. But its true that craftsmanship really maters.. since altus 807 with silver plated body sounds better than an azumi az3 with all silver head and body.

I think it also boils down to budget and circumstance. Not everyone can afford a $4500+ USD pre-professional/professional flute as their first or even second flute. They might not be professional musicians and might just be playing it as a hobby. Also depends if they want it new not used. I for example went with a Yamaha 222 that I bought 6 months ago as a beginner when I probably could have started off with a Yamaha 472 but it was not in my budget plus my experience level was very naive not only theory wise but playing an instrument wise and I'm self learning throughout the pandemic. I've heard children starting off on a Muramatsu, but I guess the parents had big pockets. If I win a lottery I might just go for a platinum $84,000 Powell but ya you get the idea. Budget is huge especially when the cost of living in general is so high and getting higher every year.
