I have a buggy I've been building and I have to keep redoing things on...wondering in your experience....what is the cheapest number 1 upgrade I can do to my Duromax 440cc to squeeze some juice from it? I have a crazy rear axle that seems to be a pipe in the center section and I managed to weld an old Polaris ATV rear sprocket to it but it's too tall a gear,don't have any easy way to add a bigger sprocket ..I have the forward/reverse transmission from the Polaris but really haven't sorted an easy way to mount it. I am trying to get it proper as it's a 2 seater and I'm doing all the work on it I can in order to take my autistic 7 yr old for rides , he Loves anything with an engine but he's scared of his powerwheels car , go figure , lol ,problem is it'll go about 60mph but it takes some work to get it out of the starting gate. But Being a disabled adult with a tight income I don't have the big bucks to throw all these parts at it...I manage to save a few dollars to the side here and there though. You pretty much ruined that thing , why go through all the work of doing this swap when any twin piston snowmobile engine will just drop right in

The build looks really good to be honest I would have went back with the Nobbies on the rear tires with beadlock on them and lower the air pressure but that's just me
Back in 1985 I drank a bottle of vodka and went for a ride on one of those. I still have a scar. I saw a guy do the A Team (tv show) jump on it. He didn't get hurt and the Odyssey barely had any damage. They were built. The torque converter was the weak link.
Mustang being turned from a sports car to a CUV electric thing reminds me Odyssey being turned from a recreational buggy into a Minivan

Their's about 3 times as much power with that 800 twin. Long as it wasn't one that had the recall done where they displacement was made smaller due to engine problems.
800 is way more cool factor
I have had a couple of these since I was a kid in the 1980's and I was always disappointed with the severe lack of power with them. Never did hoon worth a crap.
Just this week I was clearing out some blackberries on the property and came across one of these frames in the bushes. The frame looks good and has the rear axle. The front plastic was there but horribly decayed along with the steering wheel. I'm thinking of building it up from there, but will need just about everything.

I had one of those growing up. My parents thought it was going to be more safe than a four wheeler. It wasn’t. Broke my wrist really bad, though it took on three trees when I did it. So much fun. The steering column tab is probably tweaked, and those things EAT tie rods if you hit anything.

It will ride a lot smoother with some old school balloon knobbies that are 2 or 4 ply, had the yellow oddssey as a kid it rode like a screaming 2 stroke wagon

How do you measure HP on these builds?
double the power, half the speed though
not its not lol. it is if you leave the stock oydessy gear box in. that motor will hit 50 with that 40 series and 54 tooth sprocket ona fl250. Ask me how i know. the stock wasnt much more than 50

I'd rather keep my oem motor, and have it mounted down lower. I lowered my seat too, and you musta raised yours.
but I got mine street legal for WA state, ride it all around Tacoma. suspension is terrible but it makes an excellent street-kart.

I have some questions I just picked one of these up I think looks the same except the motor has 2 spark plugs and I'm missing a few parts can you tell me about what motor it is everyone of them doesn't have this motor

Do you recommend the 440 cc duromax or the 420 predator engine ? Which engine is more reliable after a gov delete?
440 is better just because of power but they’re practically just as reliable I’d say

I got 2 of them. With sprint frames. I seen a honda atv with the same front suspension but with front brakes, that would be a good addition. I had trouble with seats being too high and my legs hitting the steering. Usually I have to go back to the recessed seat , better ergonomics. Have you thought of the duramax engine with the original rear transaxle? How bout boxing the rest frame and making it a swingarm suspension. Keep up good work.

I have been trying to buy an Odyssey off of a guy in my town for 15 years he won't sell it but does nothing with it :/ It has been covered in vines for the whole time and all you can see is part of the role cage. But like a deer hunter i just saw the corner of the cage and knew what it was lol.
Is that the Comet 40 or 94c? I’m actually doing the same to my FL250 but predator 420. I’m worried about burning belts with cam, exhaust, carb, and head work

I own one of these and have a 400 Arctic cat panther in it and does burnouts every time and goes well over 50 you have the technology why not try it

Hey Red I have a similar build on my go kart except it’s a predator 212 with stage one kit. I just removed the governor and watch your video on how to do it which was great! The throttle is linked just how you did it and it works fine. It starts up just fine but when I touch the throttle it literally takes off and will not stop unless I kill it. Please help me out man I can’t seem to find any solutions online and I’m sure you have a solution. Thanks!

Hey red beard I have a predator 420 engine with a stage 1 performance kit, and the governor removed what pound valve springs would you recommend putting in it?
I've done the same to my 420cc and 390cc engines put 35lbs springs they can be done by hand. Without a valve spring compressor. Will get in the upper 5000 rpm range. On my third big block the Vegas kart 460cc I put 50lbs springs due to a marine cam plus optional 1:1:1 ratio billit rockers good investment for an additional $20.00 on top of the engine gives you an extra 10% lift on your duration. Plus self ported and polished the head and milled 60 thousands. So that one got 50lbs springs put the 35lbs springs in to the predatorn420cc. My Honda GX has had the governor removed header pipe and a K&N style intake with the #42 jet with 35lbs valve springs. I might be upgrading to a billit arc flywheel ,rod and a 280 lift torque cam and 1:1:1 ratio rockers from Vegas Carts. Will definitely be putting in 50lbs springs. If you put a large cam with more than 350 lift you'll need dual 65lbs valve springs.

I'm having an issue with my gokart is moving on it's own. Once I turn off the choke, it wants to take off, but when I put it back in choke, it stops.. how can I fix that please help

Do you think if just a stock 440cc would be enough on an fl250? If I was okay with the stock engine, would the 440 be similar to the power of the fl250? And how much more torque does the 440 have over the fl150?
If you were talking about a 440 Arctic cat they have about 50 hp stock which is almost 3 times the stock fl250 hp

yours is fn SLOW it was faster stock, with the dct. 55mph I can go with my 240lb fat ass, all stock just well rebuilt.

It had no rear suspension to begin with the 350s did not the 250s
