    Slow down, at this rate you're going to get 10 million subscribers this year. You have an unfair advantage: you get straight to the point, don't beat around the bush, and present the pros and cons of the tool. That is a recipe for instant subscriptions!

    Just got mine today.... I've been using a Bosch 12V light that was similar but have been slowly switching to M12 tools.
    A little bigger than my Bosch but I like it.

      I have the other Bosch 12V stick light, model GLI12V-300N. I wish this M12 Rover had something like the hook that one has, but I think that's about the only advantage the Bosch has over it.

    I like that new light. I have the old one. Only real complaint I have about it is that the 4ah batteries are a pain to pull out of the light.

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  Před 3 lety +2

      I've noticed that with the M12 Rocket light and the 4Ah batteries too. It's not as bad with this one. I think the hard-to-remove problem is actually a property of the 4Ah battery molded plastic pieces being a little oversized compared to the 2Ah packs. With most M12 tools that you can grip the whole battery to take it out, it's not as noticeable. But with ones like the M12 Rocket and original M12 Rover, there's protruding parts of the tool that impede access to the battery, which makes it a lot harder.

  • @nelsoncarpentry
    @nelsoncarpentry Před 3 lety +2

    I never thought of it as a comparable light to the “mounting” rover. Now I don’t feel like I got such a good deal getting them on clearance. 😂
    I really thought of it more as an M12 power source with a light slapped on. I didn’t realize it won’t charge the battery though. Now I feel it’s more of a replacement for the lantern.

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  Před 3 lety +1

      It would have been great if it could charge the M12 battery too. I think Milwaukee would have placed it more in the $80-100 price range if that was the case though.

    I love mine got it a few weeks back from Ohio Power Tool use it for car repairs and other small spaced areas. Just picked up the M18 Rover light as well as the searchlight they are both on sale at HD added them to my collection with both M18 and m12 Rockets lights. p.s was hoping that Ryobi was going to show some of those items you should on that patent video was truly disappointed.

      Milwaukee is killing it with jobsite lighting!
      Yeah, I was pretty disappointed by Ryobi's product announcements too. I expected a few revamped HP brushless versions to be in their 25 advertised new tools, but I didn't expect it to be almost ALL updates to existing tools.

    Thanks for this great comparison video. Love the compact size and the price point. I can see this working really well in compact spaces where size matters more than output. I also agree that $60 is a good pricepoint for this compact light. What's the amp output on the USB port? Would've been nice if Milwaukee designed the USB A port to be a fast charge/QC 3.0, or even better a PD USB-C port (hey, a guy can wish right?).

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  Před 3 lety

      It's 2.1A output. I don't think it supports variable voltages like Quick Charge though, or Milwaukee would have advertised it.

    • @smithmal01
      @smithmal01 Před 3 lety +2

      @@DoresoomReviews Thanks. Milwaukee should start incorporating better USB charging ports into their new equipment. I can't imagine it would increase the price that much to go from USB A to C. C charges 20x faster than A.

    You were wrong about the USB. That button is to check battery strength. The USB power is "always on" as long as you have a battery in there.

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews  Před 3 lety +5

      Do me a favor. Take the M12 battery out of your light, and reinsert it. Next, plug in your USB cable without pressing any buttons. Now connect your device. It won't charge. Now press the USB button. Still think I'm wrong?
      Also, direct quote from the manual: "To charge a phone or other electronic device using the 2.1A USB port, plug in the USB and press the USB wake button. The port will remain ON for about 2 hours."

    • @designlowe
      @designlowe Před 3 lety

      @@DoresoomReviews I agree with your description of the function of that button. I can confirm this is the case with other USB devices as well. I believe this is because when that USB port is active (not necessarily having something plugged in, but just "on") will cause a draw on the battery. This is why there is a 2h timer integrated as well... if you accidentally turn it on, you will only loose that battery drain for that time. That drain will happen just from the port being "on", even if no device is plugged in.
