03 Powerstroke - NO Cluster

- Hey whats up guys. I had a interesting one today that I definitely wanted to share. As the cluster went dead, it no longer gave the voltage regulator the proper signal to charge. After repairing I had to replace the ALT anyways. Charged at 12.9 idling, reved up 13.9-14.1. New ALT shifter- all is good!!! Hope you all liked!!!

This been going on since the 90's. On the older ones the harness would chafe on the collapsible column and short out. I usually just solder them and sleeve each wire and then the whole harness in shrink tubing.
My 03 did the exact same thing with the 10 amp fuse when i pushed the tow haul button a few yrs ago. Just didnt push it since then. Will do that fix. THANKS so much ARod

All be damn man, job well done. The wife's exploder just broke the blend door actuator arm on the passenger side on the way to the Braves game, (oh what fun that dash will be to remove). Gots one on order for tomorrow. Safe to say my Saturday is shot!!!

My 02 f250 did the same thing I replace the shifter and and fuse and the cluster, Accelerator panel and 4x4 still does work. Can anybody give advice

I also wiggled the plug on the alt with no success
