Phone sucks.
I use my Moto g pure everyday all day on everything. I've yet to find or have any problems with it. No lag in games, no screen freezes on anything. It's like this phone isn't a low end budget phone at all. The pure replaced a Samsung Galaxy A32. And I much rather have the pure. It seems to work a lot better. Great channel btw!!
How is the phone 5 months later?
@@Olivia-op7 lol, I barely use it. It's too laggy and slow. It was a great phone at first. I'm back using my A32 5g. Which is so much better. I only use the moto g pure when I leave the house. Which is rare.

Your voice is very smooth and relaxing, you are the one to watch reviews in my opinion.
I have a moto G Fast I've had for about 18 months now and it's only now starting to show any wear and it's cheaper than the pure but in specs they are very similar. Motorola has great quality control
Take in mind I put alot of abuse into my phone's which is why I opt for the cheaper ones, this is the fourth Motorola I've owned in my life and I truly think I'm a customer for life, I wanted to watch a video on this to see if it would make for a good replacement for when this one goes and the moto G line has so many potential options in the same price range
I just replaced my Google Pixel 2 XL which I've had since they it came out in 2017 with the Moto G Pure. I was nice for once to be able to pay for a new phone and not have monthly payments for the next two years or a 2 year contract. It has all the features that my Google Pixel 2 XL had that I find necessary . I use bluetooth headphones so I usually don't play anything or watch videos using the speaker. Nice that it charges fast. Also it doesn't come with a lot of extra apps that I really don't need. My Google Pixel 2 XL was 64GB and this one is 32GB so I may add some GB with the option of the microcard, but I'll see. I don't store a lot of photos or documents on my phone. Overall I think I will be happy with it. And again it was nice that it was not $1000. I could just pay cash and go on my way and then transferred my data from my Pixel 2XL.
Well said. I like the new pixel 6 phones that just came out but it's still too expensive. The cheaper pixel is still $800 while you can get the Pure for under $200. Ok it's not the same of course comparing a Mercedes to a Hyundai but it works and gets you from point A to B without breaking the bank. For basic needs the Pure works fine.
Bro you downgraded pixel 2xl is way better then this phone epically in the camera department

Great review Kevin. This is a budget phone winner. You can't do better at this price. So I tried your advice and my Moto G7 Power has a single core speed of 270 so this Pure is slower at 133. But in real world use don't think there's much difference as I'm not a gamer. It'd be great if they provide 2 OS updates but guess at this price we're lucky to get even one. Many el cheapo Chinese phones don't get squat after it's sold.

My phone stopped working and I'm broke and this phone was only $50 so I just bought it because I had no choice. Waiting for it to come in the mail and hopefully I like it.
Needed something to play music on our speakers at work, bought the moto g go (same build as the Pure) for $39 at dollar general and love it. I remember buying an mp3 player back in 2003 with 128 kb storage for about $60, technology evolution is amazing lol

I have this phone, and after using it for a year I can say. This phone is absolutely TERRIBLE. It can barely run multiple apps at a time, the camera quality does not exist. The only good thing is the battery life. If you are thinking about buying this phone, I would also recommend therapy sessions.

Got mine this morning for $50. dollars..with Straight Talk....brilliant, 6.5 inch screen, great 4000 battery.... camera's great for casual use...audio sounds loud without earbuds...How can you lose for $50.00?

Fantastic review! I have an opportunity to upgrade my older Kyocera smartphone to a Moto g Pure for free. (They still charge you for all the taxes and the Activation Fee, even though *you* have to finish up activating your phone afterwards. So basically $50, though technically you're still getting the phone itself for "free.")
Wasn't sure if I should go for it or perhaps spend some extra money on a more advanced smartphone. Your review made it clear that the Moto g Pure is personally good enough for me. Thank you.

I got this phone free today with safelink and I am enjoying it. I the a screen isn't better then the iPhone 12 I also have but the screen is bigger which I love. So far I am enjoying it. Getting to understand Android again.

This is the first "budget" phone I've ever bought and couldnt be happier. Good riddance Apple and expensive AT&T data plans.

Walmart has these for 40$ on sale for the US cellular prepaid, I bought and added to my contract. Just have to use the sim that came with it.
I just got one of these and I am not impressed with it. The camera quality sucks and the built in speaker isn't clear. đđŒđđŒđ
Is Samsung Galaxy better?
I have been using this phone for about a week on the Tracfone (Verizon) Network. I purchased it from HSN back in December of 2021 for $49 with a $20 coupon code. It came preloaded with a years Tracfone service, 1500 minutes, 1500 texts, and 1.5gb of data. The phone is very usable, good battery life and have had no issues doing anything. My only issue with it is the size. It doesnât fit in my cargo pockets. I originally purchased the phone for just the Tracfone service it came with. Canât beat a $120 tracfone service card for $49 dollars. I plan to use it for a few more weeks and switch it over to an iPhone SE 2020. But first impressions I wouldnât have any issues using this phone till it died if not for the length of the phone.
Well guess what? I got it for FREE and I get 2 GB of data!
Can the sd card be used as internal storage?

@@DamanReal on a prepaid plan you turn the data on when you need it. You donât leave it on or it would be gone in a day with all the apps always searching for new emails or whatever. Iâm a light user and used about 4gb last year.

I daily drove this phone for 1.5 years. I found it to be competent, if not a little slow. I bought a Oneplus Nord CE 2 5G to replace it, and it was like going from a Cavalier to a Ferrari. It has 8 GB of ram as compared to 3, and feels super fast, and responsive. It also has a way better camera. It cost more than double though, so you have to look at it like that!

However, the only reason I would not give you an A+ is that you did not review the call volume issue that I am having AND which by a Google search, seems to be an issue with Moto phones. I am new to the smartphone game. Yep, I was a diehard flip phone user and changed because of mass transit as I would rather pre-purchase my tickets, and the only guarantee that I can use it is with a smartphone with mobile data capabilities. Sometimes the bus wifi would not be working for my tablet.
For those of you who want to mention that a "Volume Booster" is the solution, I have tried a couple and they did help with media --- music to be specific --- but not call volume for some strange reason. So I guess I will be forced to wear headphones for calls when I use the phone. BTW, when making calls through Google Voice the volume is better.
However, I thoroughly enjoyed your review. I am a PC guy that didn't want another computer since I am on them all day for work. All I wanted was a phone to answer and the second reason for getting it, calls, doesn't work very well. The third reason would be a functional camera BUT my Samsung tablet does a good job on that account.
Just saw this as an ATT prepaid phone at WM, on clearance, for FIFTEEN CLAMS. I was tempted to pick it up as a backup, but I need to make sure first that I can unlock it and cram in my own sim. I've got no desire to give ATT another dime of my money.

I got this phone for $20 with the $45/mo AT&T Prepaid Max plan. It's surprisingly good, as someone coming from a Galaxy S9+, I'm not gonna make it my daily phone, but it might take over that duty whenever my S9+ ends up inevitably kicking the bucket
I see the AT&T prepaid one at Walmart. Does yours have all the AT&T bloatware? I don't want to get this one if it does.

A decent budget phone if you don't spend too much time on it, it does the job, good for text & talk and checking emails & bank apps & a few others as well, taking photos not the greatest but does ok, this phone will hold out for a couple of years, overall I'm happy with it, does the job
I got this phone unlocked at best buy (excellent-grade pre-owned) for $35! And I am psyched how much I saved for a fully functional device with virtually no drawback. Matched with a cheap prepaid plan, feels like i'm stealing from big cell companies!

This phone is sold at my local dollar general for 30 bucks is it used or something or is really that cheap?
Some of the negative comments seem to becoming from people who got the phone free through a government program. This is a very nice phone that anyone should be proud of yet these ungrateful people only moan, groan, and depress everyone with their negativity. Maybe that is why they are failures in life and cannot afford to take care of themselves or their families.

These are junk I wouldn't buy I wouldn't even recommend buying anything for Motorola. China knock off garbage. To charge more than $69.99 for this phone is a crime. $159 is insane.

@elroddin76, the person was referring to the bottom bezel on the phone. It is called the chin; the top bezel is the forehead. They were referring to the fact that the phone is not edge to edge and has bigger bezels than some of the more premium phones. Honestly, not a big deal to me though đ€·đ»ââïž

I got this phone with my qlink government phone service for free it's a pretty good phone.
I got one from assurance wireless and another one from SafeLink. Both were free.
I got one of those programs but then unlocked it, got a sim kit for 1 dollar, switched Sims and now I got a s10, I use it now for tablet, and car camera, and Bluetooth tooth to my speaker. Nice camera but mine oddly goes to 9mp not 12 as u mentioned in your other video also stabilization turns once I select it! Do you know why?
I press it, back out, go back in to video and it's deselected??

This is a very very good budget phone. It has 2Ghz processor speed, it has 3 GB ram and for a phone that is really good. This phone will not be sow when you open up an app. I recommend this phone.

I always buy cheap phones! I'm a heavy equipment operator but spend a lot of time out of the machine, in the trench with a shovel, as well! No matter what expensive, shock proof, water proof, indestructible, lava resistant, blackhole resistant case I buy... My phones shit the bed constantly!
This phone isn't bad. I don't overload phones with a lot of apps, music, and other downloads so this phone does do what I need it to do and is perfectly fine!

This phone is only 720 HD. That's a stupid statement since Fox HD and ABC HD (Sports Broadcast) are also 720 HD and not 1080 like CBS. PBS, and NBC. Nothing wrong with the screen resolution here,yet He talks it down like it's not good.
It's a free government phone you can get if you're on EBT(food stamps) or SSI. Can't complain đ

How does this phone match up against the Samsung Galaxy A01? Which phone is best to use for calls, texting, photos, and occasional social media?
I had the samsung A01 right before i got this one a week ago. If you ask me, there is no comparison, this phone beats that all to heck. My samsung got hot, this doesn't in the least. My samsung always froze up, not this one. All around better phone in my experience. I swear by motorola for all of my phone needs, even back in the analog era, motorola never disappoints. Hope this helps you decide.
The pure is so much better than the Samsung Galaxy A01.
You can easily compare specs of phones by going to Google and putting in âMoto G Pure compared to IPhone 13â just as an example. It brings up all the technical info of each phone side by side. You even have an option to highlight the differences.
The A01 is the worst cheap phone I ever had. Put up with it for 2 years but it was an annoying struggle.
I loved the a01 just why the 16Gb internal storage?

Mine drops calls can't keep a internet signal. And my voice on calls is skipping in and out. Same location as the LG phone with no problem
Got my Moto g pure for free at Boost today. Still learning it, though I like the sharpness of the camera pic. My son tends to make fun of my phone pics (on an old HTC) because he says they look blurred (He has a new iPhone). I am not glued to my phone. I use it just to text my son, to hail an Uber, to watch CZcams videos and take pictures. So for now, this one will do.

Performance should have been half the video.
I hate mine. It's a '21 if that matters. The system always fails. I've had it for at least 6 months no matter what browser i use, chrome, duck duck go, or brave the system goes down. It stinks.
Weird, maybe you got a defective one? I'm m using it right now and all browsers work fine, I have an adblock though so the phone is working a LOT less to browse.
@@ShitNoggin5000 I've begun to wonder if it's because I have lousy Internet. I too have an ad block. It failed when I had next to nothing for storage and now when it's more full.
â@@2singHispraise NEVER let your system get full on storage, Android needs some free space or it will be super slow and crash a lot.
1. Go to settings > Apps > See all apps > and uninstall any games that you don't play, then uninstall any apps that you don't use (Don't delete apps if you don't know what they do)
2. go to Settings > Apps > See all apps > click the app or game you wanna keep > click storage and cache > and clear cache. (DONT CLEAR DATA), cache is not data, you can clear cache without any data being gone from your app or game.
3. Try to remember to close your apps right after using them (there should be a square button on the bottom of your screen), click it, and swipe all the way to the left, and there should be a "clear all" button on the left
Just unboxed my new Moto G Pure phone and gotta say - I'm not a fan at all of this micro short 2 foot cable it came with. I'm also unfamiliar with the tiny connector that plugs into the phone. Please say what terms I need to use that describes this cable so I can google shop for a longer one? Thanks
Oh and the phone spoke to me as soon as I connected it to the charger - so That will be the First Thing I Will Have to Learn How To Turn Off!

You never told us what the OS version is. And is it a 5G phone?
It runs android 12 (mostly stock android, but Motorola has some small changes.) and only 4g.
My moto g Pure came with Android 11 installed in April 2022. There has since been an upgrade for Android 12 but I have never upgraded. There are complaints online from folks whose phones became unusable after upgrading to 12 on this phone, so I do not trust upgrading. Probably not an issue for phones that came with Android 12 preinstalled. This phone is 4g capable only, which is fine for my needs. I added a 128gb micro SD card.
