    This is perfect, since there is no difference for new GPUs, PCI-E4 x8 is enough and PCI-E 5 x8 will be enough for the next gen.

    • @kerotomas1
      @kerotomas1 Před rokem +4

      I mean you can still run 2 gen 5 SSDs and get x16 for the gpu, only switches to x8 when you install a 3rd M2 drive which 99% of people won't use like ever. Gen 4 x8 is not enough though, 4080 is bottlenecked by 5-10% while the 4090 is around 20% you need x16 until we get gpus that natively support gen 5 then x8 will be enough.

    • @derek4177

      @@kerotomas1 that is not really true. The RTX 4090 is bottlenecked just by about 2%, not 20% lol...............haha where you got this from? The difference is very very little and barely noticable.

    Thank you for the great PCB breakdown BZ :),
    In germany, the price difference between the x670e-aorus master and the b650e aorus-master is only around 70€ to 90€. Personally, I prefer the m.2 setup on the chipset of the x670e because If I decide to use more than two m.2 drives I can still use them without going down to x8 on the pcie 5.0 x16 slot (which is typically used by the graphic card). Unfortunately, current GPU gen only supports pcie 4.0 so there may be a small disadvantage (I think someone measured around 1%-3%?) to go down to x8.

    I wonder if converting them to PCIe slots will work. They have M.2 to PCIe adapter boards. I still don't understand this M.2 obsession. There's plenty of PCIe lanes to fit 7 PCIe slots and a few M.2 slots. I'd be fine with a single x16 slot and 6 x1 to x4 slots.

    • @jonahhekmatyar
      @jonahhekmatyar Před rokem +3

      Same, a pcie to M.2 card is dirt cheap and pcie slots are so much more useful. It's also annoying that boards are dropping pcie slots just so they can advertise "we have (x) gen 5 m.2 slots". Anyone who wants a bunch of m.2 can just get their pcie m.2 or u.2 cards.
      Not to mention normies don't even really care or know what that means and people who do don't need it. Kind of a self fulfilling issue.

    Hey, I am wondering about PCB breakdown of some really of the cheapest AM5 mobos.
    I am also wondering abut PCB breakdown of new GB AM4 B450-POOR mobo, that actually is rescuing all the AM4 socket sensibility, because of massive price hike of all the rest of mobos (at least in my region). It is totally cheaped out, but I think it's good enough for Ryzen 5500, 5600, and even X3D that is using really little power.

      @bgtubber Před rokem

      @@malesulo980 QC = quality control. I've not heard of their Aorus Elite models having this issue. Hopefully you are fine. One way you can test for the issue is if you put a powerful CPU like a 7950x and run OCCT Large Data Set (it's important that it's on the large data set setting) or if you run Corona Benchmark. Prime95 also causes the black screens. It can also happen with other software and even games from what I've heard from other people. I think it has to do with the inability of the motherboard to adequately handle AVX workloads since all of these software use AVX instructions.

      Same here. I get black screens in some software. Check the video on my channel. I don't recommend this motherboard if you don't know if it's an early batch. You will just waste hours or weeks troubleshooting and RMA'ing. Better just get another motherboard.

    I do not recommend this motherboard. There's a reason it's this cheap for the features it offers - some of these mobos are factory defective (AKA poor quality control). They will cause black screens when paired with Ryzen 7950x. Mine was one of those factory defective ones and I've been waiting for weeks for replacement. Check my channel for a video I shot of mine. There are also Reddit threads about this (search B650E Aorus Master black screen). What's worse is some people won't even know this since the problem doesn't happen in every software or game and will think it's their video card, PSU or monitor that's at fault, wasting hours or days of their time when it's the Gigabyte motherboard. For example, I can run hours of Cinebench R23 without any issues, but as soon as I run Corona benchmark, OCCT large dataset or Prime95, I get black screens. Typical for Gigabyte, they are playing dumb and still haven't even officially acknowledged the problem. I wrote to their support and they also "don't know" about this issue. I'm very disappointed with Gigabyte as a company. Just don't buy it. It's not worth the time, money and hassle RMA'ing, believe me.

    The big disappointment is DDR5.. when you populate all 4 slots, the speed drops down to 3600. So, yeah, what's the point of DDR5 then. There is no point. My DDR3 ran at 3600...

    If the M.2's aren't run as Gen 5.0, will they still cut the x16 down to an x8?

    Hi, I appreciate your content, but you are wrong. X670E master PCIE 5.0 connectivity is not the same like B650E. There is no PCIe sharing with M.2. Although X670E Aorus Extreme has same sharing..... I am confused at this point....

    "better than to be stuck with troublshooting LEDs" ...bruh, most B650 boards don't even have troubleshooting LEDs either!
    that is now a premium feature as well, every Tech Support person better get ready to go back to decoding beep morse codes for trouble shooting and have one of them little speakers in their backpack again (because PC cases sure don't come with those obsolete things anymore).
