Also, watch the united player warming up on the touch line…he passes the ball to Brentford for a throw in straightaway. Normally you don’t touch it and let your team get back, noticed him do it a few times…like he was saying “going on mate, smash us”. It was just weird. Worse thing about this result is Sky & rest of media will drone on about how poor Man Utd were & give little credit to Brentford who deserved it. Man Utd have been in decline for years now, time for reality check as not big club anymore.
But that's because every team is supposed to do their best and hopefully play well - every game. Brentford did that, great, but that's their job. Man Utd are the story because they didn't.

And Brentford knew that when they played United today. And to compound it . Erik ten Hag made a horrendous mistake by playing Eriksen as a defensive midfielder.
And we saw the result of that for the second Brentford goal. The Brentford attackers were not scared in tackling their former colleague.

You're right, they might have been better under Rangnick seeing that he would have known the players for a longer time which would have allowed him to set up a plan with his coaching staff. I would've pull De Gea after 30 minutes. I would've grabbed Maguire by the ear and thrown him onto the bench. That game was screaming for a substitution before halftime. Instead, he did nothing and it got worse. Eriksen as holding midfielder. Rashford starting. McTominay being brought on after halftime. Disgraceful performance from Ten Hag.
