    I can confirm this works. I got a 1210 on my PSAT Junior year and I did some review on Khan Academy and took a practice test and got a 1340. Hopefully it keeps going up at a fast rate. I would highly recommend printing out the practice test, even if you have to pay to print. Annotating is an invaluable tool.

      Michael Bruh I got a 1260 on PSAT my senior year and I took an SAT test and got a 1340. So the improvement is really because PSAT and SAT are out of different scores. Or did you mean that you got a 130 point increase on the PSAT?

    @Tutoring-bl5gq Před 5 lety +119

    I'm a private tutor and highly highly recommend self study. I got a 1570 as a student with self study.
    That said, my students spend far less than 70-80 hours of studying to get there, and I bet if we worked together we could have had you at 1570+ in closer to 20 hours of work.
    I've had students that went increase their scores near 200 points in just 5 hours of instruction. It all depends on what's messing the student up.
    Some people don't know the content and some people don't know how to take the test. A good tutor can identify those things well and shift mindset for faster success.

    The June SAT was a fluke. According to various sources, the June SAT was incredibly easy. I’m not hating. I’m just being realistic. Although Khan Academy is somewhat of a decent source for studying, books such as College Panda, Erica Meltzer’s SAT Reading Guide, etc will allow for much more of an improvement. Good luck to everyone in their SAT endeavors.

    thx bro. Whats really trippy was that I got your exact same score from your PSAT. And I'm trying to improve above 1500. Khan Academy helps A LOT. It really does. Thx bro. But I think you should've also advised the summer people. What I'm doing is two practice tests a week, and 4 hr a day since its summer bc hard core studying will get your brain used to it faster. Kind of like just starting a video game. My score skyrocketed already by 160 points in 2 weeks.

    I also got a 1320, but on my first SAT not my last PSAT. I got a 1220 on my last PSAT. I don't mind having a 1320, but if it were just a bit higher I would be saving thousands of dollars every year in scholarship money at the four-year university I plan on attending. Since I'll be retaking the SAT at some point, I think I want to aim for at least a 1400 to broaden my choices for college. A lot of my options are quite limited for what I want to do, but I still have a lot of schools that I'm confident would be easy to get into with my scores and whatnot.

      Hey! Last summer I was like many of you guys and I was studying hard for the SAT. I took the test once during my junior year and I got an 1150, Knowing that I wanted to apply to some top tier schools and ivy leagues, this score was not enough for me and demoralized me. I didn't have much time left before senior year so I spent all of July and August studying for the test. I only used Khan Academy and practice tests to study by myself. After lots of hard work I managed to get a 1510 on the test and later that year, I got into UPENN. If you would like to hear more about my story and how I raised my score so fast and quick then watch this video: czcams.com/video/RLOtuiTowfg/video.html Hope this helps!

    yours is similar to me. work on weekdays practice some hours during week, weekends 8 AM full test simulating real environment, without any distractions/good night sleep. The thing is im bad at reading/writing, so i need to review those mistakes better. If im bad at reading/writiing than i need to spend more time practing that on the weekdays. if your bad at reading/writing PRACTICE more on weekdays and than PRACTICE MORE ON WEEKDAYS, than pracitce more than review those alot of practice mistakes. Than full practice test simulating real test conditions.

      Yes, that is true. HOWEVER, you do not need to take tests that are harder than the REAL sat. It's highly advised to take practice tests that are officially from college board.

    I'm currently studying on khan academy and I find myself really improving a lot lately:) But at the same time, I worry that my results will downgrade on the real SAT test...So I ask u all, how did yall cope with this? I would love to know :)))

    • @aaliyahboykins2158
      @aaliyahboykins2158 Před 5 lety +1

      i honestly would just recommend continuously and consistently practicing the material that u aren’t comfortable in and take as many practice tests as possible. it should hopefully give you a feel for the real test but being comfortable with the material is also a big deal!

    • @grass666
      @grass666 Před 5 lety +1

      tbh, if you know the material well, it shouldn't have much of an effect at all. however, there's an option on Khan Academy to print the practice tests out and bubble in the answers if you're really concerned about it :)
