      I appreciate it brother! If you don't do this already, try setting your bass to monophonic (Or set the polyphony to 1 - Same thing) so every note you play cuts the last note off. You might already be doing this, but if not, it'll go a long way. Thanks again bro. 🙏🏽✊🏽

    Dang, bass lines are your specialty! May I ask what is your go to bass sound?
    Also, thinking about getting a Maschine MK3, in your opinion, is it still relevant? It’s kind of old right?

    • @melotheproducer
      @melotheproducer  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I appreciate it brother! I find myself using 808 Studio II for synth bass in most cases. There's a preset called "Tory" that's a great starting point. I think the Maschine MK3 is still very relevant - don't think you can go wrong with it. (No matter how old it gets, you can always add new sounds.) Thanks again bro. 🙏🏽✊🏽

    hi melo! huge fan, I love your basslines, do you have any tips on how to write catchy bass lines?

    • @melotheproducer
      @melotheproducer  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Thank you! I'd say to start with the root note and experiment with octaves. Remember that no matter what you do, always establish and l maintain the root note because that's the foundation. Every once in a while, come out of pocket and play the bass as a lead, but always come back to the root. Thanks again and hope this helps. 🙏🏾✊🏾

      @@melotheproducer Thanks for answering, nice the hear things are in movement for you. Yep the patches, tried trilian presets and also one of the VST’s you used in the ”only free VST’s video”
      But nothing compares, seems like there’s something vital I’m missing.

      Thanks bro. I usually show the VST plugins and sounds in the videos, but here's a video specifically about how I select my sounds: czcams.com/video/Ik1U8gPj-U8/video.html I don't use any audio hardware to make my beats in most of these videos-Just using the VST instruments shown on the screen. • @melotheproducer
      @melotheproducer  Před měsícem

      I started producing in 2002 and found out who he was in 2008 (maybe 2007). But he was definitely one of many influences before I even heard of him. Warryn Campbell, Tim and Bob, Rodney Jerkins, Shep Crawford, The Underdogs, Babyface, Jazzy Pha, Quincy Jones, Jermaine Dupri, Stevie Wonder, Brian McKnight - Man I could go on all day lol. A lot of newer producers don't mind being a clone of other producers, but I take a lot of pride in being unique, while still allowing my sound to be a tribute to those greats who influenced me. But thanks - That's definitely a compliment lol. 🙏🏽✊🏽
