I even double checked this but apparently this wasn't enough😀 Luckily it's just a descriptive error though, would be a bit hard to play football with legs only 14 cm long😂! Or with -7cm legs like in the old game I compared it to😀 About the others, as I said in the video, I don't know how exactly the game processes this, I just noticed that those with great size + great leg length tend to be really good interceptors, while those who did not have these features tended to be not as good interceptors. I'm not sure if I understood the last point correctly. The spreadsheet's formula to calculate leg coverage diameter says (0.16*0.5*J+0.7*J*(0.56+0.03*(P/14)))*2, with J being leg length equivalent height and P being leg length. If not equivalent height but the actual players height contributing, wouldn't it have to be O instead of J? Apologies if I'm overlooking something and thanks for your comment👍
@PESPepe This is due to an incorrect formula for the leg coverage calculation, it should be height instead of leg length equivalent height. However am unable to update the whole spreadsheet with the new formula because my laptop is simply not powerful enough 😂 my apologies for spreading slight misinformation

Played Burn for a while, agree he is nice😀Since he is very tall, even his average leg length of 7 is enough to put him just between Vieira and Zakaria. Hows your Koller doing with it? Long time ago, I randomly gave a skill trainer to Lewandowski and also got Interception and he really did make some surprise interceptions with it. I'd expect Koller to do even better with it due to his size😀

i would also argue that this player id thing does apply to other stats like passing or shooting where some player have same stats but one is waay better than the other and only few 'current' player have that advantage like modric or kdb.... i first started noticing that with the introduction of legend players in 2019 or so

Hello! I think Wan-Bissaka can't learn DMF because he's registered as a RB. Rüdiger could, he would probably be the best raw interceptor out of all of these, but the problem is that his passing and dribbling are so incredibly bad that I wouldn't use him because he'd be too unreliable doing anything other than defend/intercept. Initiating attacks is important pretty important as DMF. Saliba would be slightly better, but same problem. Out of the others, I'd probably rank Gilberto Silva a bit above Costacurta, but both of them clearly above Beckenbauer. Oh and if you use Costacurta in Long Ball Counter, don't forget to give him a defensive instruction. It's not needed for Gilberto Silva as he is an Anchor Man.

Hey! For the most part, there isn't really a difference between CB and RB/LB in terms of player type because in the current META, you'd put the same kind of player there unless you play my old 4-4-2 LBC formation with the fullback finisher option or indominators newest QC/Possession 4-4-2 that he qualified for the world championship with. It's hard to say which ones are the best as we all play differently, but here's how I feel: I've played quite a bit of Thuram and he is absolutely amazing. In my opinion, possibly the best defender in the game right now, I've never had Araújo though, but played against him, and he was extremely valuable. Without including the latter, the best CB/RB options right now are probably Thuram, Bergomi, Tomiyasu, Wan-Bissaka. Costacurta is also great, but I'd probably put him a bit below at least Thuram and Bergomi, possibly also the other 2. I've also played Fortress Zakaria as CB and he was fine. Hope I didn't forget any. Always a very subjective take though, other players might feel different, be aware of that. I don't have most of the epic players like Maldini, Nesta or Cannavaro for example, making it hard to rate them without having played with or against them a lot. Same goes for most of the anchor men. I'd put Fortress Zakaria as a clear #1 here though. If you play LBC, a box to box/destroyer Vieira with a defensive instruction will probably outshine most of the other anchor men. I think I've only ever come across the best Casemiro card like once or twice, hard to give an accurate impression, same for Edmilson. Gilberto Silva however I faced quite often, he was always very good.

Time to renew the contracts for my legendary Vieira, my OG NC Rudiger and Campbell(will add skills). I think that's the idea, yeah. In my opinion, if a player has longer legs (assuming he also has great defensie stats), he'll be able to intercept passes from a bit further away. I'm not sure I have seen the legendary Vieira in a while, but I guess he's fine😀 Don't worry, while it is good to have better interceptors especially in defensive midfield, I'm still using Costacurta who isn't as tall as other defenders and neither has a good leg length, but he has still rarely ever let me down. Stats still matter, and defenders win many balls through other means than interceptions like tacklings, ground or aerial duels😁 I for example also use Thuram, who is too new to be in the spreadsheet so I don't even know his leg length. I'd assume it's probably good because he's doing amazing, but the majority of the time he wins balls it's not by interceptions, but by outpositioning, outrunning or tackling the opponent, as well as aerial duels. I think another reason why defensive midfielders are a bit more important to be good interceptors than defenders is because defenders usually mark opponents, so they're near the forward and therefore also near where the ball could go. Defensive midfielders, especially when your opponent is countering and hasn't got many players up yet, often occupy free space with no direct but several spread out passing targets, making it beneficial to have that little extra interception range. I've played with both Zakaria (POTW) and Casemiro (GP) for quite a while, and would definitely give it to Zakaria. In case you haven't heard about it yet, contracts are being removed and we're getting a compensation (although I don't expect much😁) for the remaining ones we have, so unless it's urgent for you or you really want to play these players, you could wait it out until they become available automatically again. Headers are a bit of a gamble anyway, not only do the supposedly weaker players win it more often than expected, you can also manipulate them in your favor, for example by super canceling yourself into the better position, or by using a stunning cross with a good defender, which will if you dose it correctly many times seem a bit too short, which will result in both your forward and the defender having to run back a bit for it, but the defender will rarely ever get into a position where he can contest the header, essentially granting your forward a free header.
@@PESPepe Wow! Thank you so much for the detailed explanation. I decided to look beyond the forthcoming contract removal and renew the likes of Rudiger and the old GP L. Hernandez. That's just to deal with the crazy pace and all other factors I'm facing from my opponent in my local competition. One thing people do not really understand is the player ID. Yes, the stats are there but I believe the player ID plays a huge role in this game. Sadly, I do not have Thuram cos I can't even afford the coins 😂 The only measure I've added to the heading is to field tall players in my midfield and equip them with the necessary skills. My Makelele and edmilson are great at interceptions. i always thought edmilson was because of his body type in the game. he's tall and long with long legs.
Never played with or against Edmilson, so hard to rate him for me😁, but I agree, tall + long legs makes great interceptors! Makélélé might not be as tall, but 13 leg length makes him intercept a lot better than his height would suggest💪

@@mettl84 it's available in the efootball files, i got to know thier location when i tried to edit players ratings in offline. Someone took the information and put it in a spread sheet, it's probably the Chinese creator who did it.
At the moment interception plays a very big role in efootball, but Konami can change that from one day to the next and they won't release it. Actually, it's no big secret that Vieira's player model and his octopus legs are the key to success. The problem is: you can't get a decent ZMF/DMF 5 Star Destroyer for GPs. In general, Konami is very reluctant to release good destroyers. AND - Vieira is also very expensive to buy because he has ended his career and you won't get a current card anymore. There is a "cheap" alternative: Tchouaméni (France Pack (1500 coins)) but he is an anchorman which doesn't mean much if you control him manually anyway. His advantage is that he is 188cm and has long legs too.

I think that depends on your team and your playstyle. If you like LBC you might think of going for France because not only can you field Griezmann & Messi then (if you get a new Messi, only 1 can play) and you'd have the best LBC manager. It really depends on who else is on your team and how you like to play, hard for me to estimate.
I’ve been having some thoughts recently. I find that some of my players are slow to find space in any direction when they’re off the ball and I’m trying to find a passing option, and I started looking at my CMs and many of them have low attacking awareness. It makes me wonder, if we were to build all of our players in attacking awareness would we end up with a team that constantly finds space

Since the beginning of EFootball Makelele for me is better than Vieira. Obviously he is smaller and have shorter legs, but his defensive awerness is better,better speed, better passing, better balance and tight possession... Vieira was always the "goat" for me before EFootball, but now he seems just like a big tree wo lose the ball all the time
Heya! Yeah, pretty much😀Height is definitely a prerequisite. Harder to have long legs without being tall😁 Great height for example gets Van Buyten even higher up the spreadsheet despite having his leg length 3 values lower than Vieira. Tomiyasu (188) vs. Rüdiger (190) or Vieira (192) does highlight the importance of leg length though. Or Wan-Bissaka (183) for instance whose leg coverage diameter almost matches Araújo (188) and is quite a bit above Tomiyasu (188). You're absolutely right that height matters, in the full spreadsheet with all players, the top 2 players in terms of leg coverage diameter are Hudlin (206cm, 11 leg length) and Touré (206cm, 11 leg length). That alone obviously doesn't make anyone a good player though. Fun fact months ago, when trying to find out how important height actually is, I tested Touré and while he did have a great interception range, I quickly stopped using him because he was way too sluggish, like no match for any meta defender😁
I actually checked all the popular GKs a while ago to find out just that, but it's hard to say for sure, it wasn't really conclusive. I think my hypothesis was that shoulder height + arm length are important, but I pretty much have no evidence for this, I think Schmeichel, who many people love, is pretty subpar in one of the stats, but I'm afraid I don't remember exactly.
Interesting thing is not every Vieira is so good lol I've tried many builds but still he just doesn't want the ball but my opponent's Vieira he's a god you cannot stop him and if you think it's a skill issue top 400 rating btw

Sure, it's 0-1-0-6-14-7-11. I wouldn't use it outside of quick counter though (possession could also work), and even with quick counter, there's a chance it's slightly too speed heavy. It works fine, but I might try a different one for the next reset. If you use long ball counter, go for 0-2-0-10-11-7-11 if you want the +3 manager boost on lofted pass (useful if you plan to open with him using stunning crosses directly to your forwards), if not, you could go for 0-0-0-10-11-8-11. At least that's what I'd suggest.
He's obviously a bit weaker than the booster one due to lower stats, but the dimensions of this body should be the same, so he's still good without a doubt.
@@peapod5629 Hey! I've used box to box Zakaria for a long time, I think it's fine. If you play Long Ball Counter, put a defensive instruction on him to make sure he is always in place to intercept counter attacks. If you use Quick Counter, even anchor men as well as destroyers or no-style DMFs will move further up provided your attack takes long enough. You could also give him a defensive instruction here, which will make sure he won't move up too far further, meaning he'll be back faster. To be fair, if the enemy attacks quick enough he could still be too far up. If you have a too big gap between your defensive line and your midfield, you could even give 1 DMF (provided you have 2) a deep-line instruction, then he'll be covering of this space many times (if you've seen my Quick Counter vs Long Ball Counter video, it's shown there).
Oh I just noticed that the owner made the spreadsheet private, there's nothing I can do unfortunately, have to respect his decision, since he put all the work in for us. Perhaps there'll be an updated one in the future👍

Hey! I found one of them in the complete spreadsheet with leg length 9. The spreadsheet is a few months old though, so many of the new cards aren't included. I have no idea whether there's a newer version available. Usually, most cards keep having the same dimensions though. Wan-Bissaka is amazing, not only in terms of leg length (where he also has the maximum value of 14), but also in terms of stats and stat distribution. I'm still playing my ManU card of him today, awesome card. He's excelling defensively though, so you could use Ben White if you need a more offensive option.
He's tall (191), leg length slightly above average (8), he'd rank between Wan-Bissaka and Gilberto Silva, so definitely good to use, I still use the NC one myself as a sub.

Makélélé has leg length 13 (14 is the maximum), so intercepting way better than his height would suggest.

I think that's the idea, yeah. In my opinion, if a player has longer legs (assuming he also has great defensie stats), he'll be able to intercept passes from a bit further away. I'm not sure I have seen the legendary Vieira in a while, but I guess he's fine😀
Don't worry, while it is good to have better interceptors especially in defensive midfield, I'm still using Costacurta who isn't as tall as other defenders and neither has a good leg length, but he has still rarely ever let me down. Stats still matter, and defenders win many balls through other means than interceptions like tacklings, ground or aerial duels😁
I for example also use Thuram, who is too new to be in the spreadsheet so I don't even know his leg length. I'd assume it's probably good because he's doing amazing, but the majority of the time he wins balls it's not by interceptions, but by outpositioning, outrunning or tackling the opponent, as well as aerial duels.
I think another reason why defensive midfielders are a bit more important to be good interceptors than defenders is because defenders usually mark opponents, so they're near the forward and therefore also near where the ball could go. Defensive midfielders, especially when your opponent is countering and hasn't got many players up yet, often occupy free space with no direct but several spread out passing targets, making it beneficial to have that little extra interception range.
I've played with both Zakaria (POTW) and Casemiro (GP) for quite a while, and would definitely give it to Zakaria. In case you haven't heard about it yet, contracts are being removed and we're getting a compensation (although I don't expect much😁) for the remaining ones we have, so unless it's urgent for you or you really want to play these players, you could wait it out until they become available automatically again.
Headers are a bit of a gamble anyway, not only do the supposedly weaker players win it more often than expected, you can also manipulate them in your favor, for example by super canceling yourself into the better position, or by using a stunning cross with a good defender, which will if you dose it correctly many times seem a bit too short, which will result in both your forward and the defender having to run back a bit for it, but the defender will rarely ever get into a position where he can contest the header, essentially granting your forward a free header.
No need to as contracts are being phased out from next update and all your old players will be available for you to use

I decided to look beyond the forthcoming contract removal and renew the likes of Rudiger and the old GP L. Hernandez. That's just to deal with the crazy pace and all other factors I'm facing from my opponent in my local competition.
One thing people do not really understand is the player ID. Yes, the stats are there but I believe the player ID plays a huge role in this game. Sadly, I do not have Thuram cos I can't even afford the coins 😂
The only measure I've added to the heading is to field tall players in my midfield and equip them with the necessary skills.

My Makelele and edmilson are great at interceptions. i always thought edmilson was because of his body type in the game. he's tall and long with long legs.
Never played with or against Edmilson, so hard to rate him for me😁, but I agree, tall + long legs makes great interceptors! Makélélé might not be as tall, but 13 leg length makes him intercept a lot better than his height would suggest💪

At the moment interception plays a very big role in efootball, but Konami can change that from one day to the next and they won't release it.
Actually, it's no big secret that Vieira's player model and his octopus legs are the key to success. The problem is: you can't get a decent ZMF/DMF 5 Star Destroyer for GPs. In general, Konami is very reluctant to release good destroyers. AND - Vieira is also very expensive to buy because he has ended his career and you won't get a current card anymore.
There is a "cheap" alternative: Tchouaméni (France Pack (1500 coins)) but he is an anchorman which doesn't mean much if you control him manually anyway. His advantage is that he is 188cm and has long legs too.
I have the last madrid potw tchouameni destroyer and he is an absolute beast even tought his defensive stats are not so high

I think that depends on your team and your playstyle. If you like LBC you might think of going for France because not only can you field Griezmann & Messi then (if you get a new Messi, only 1 can play) and you'd have the best LBC manager. It really depends on who else is on your team and how you like to play, hard for me to estimate.
I’ve been having some thoughts recently. I find that some of my players are slow to find space in any direction when they’re off the ball and I’m trying to find a passing option, and I started looking at my CMs and many of them have low attacking awareness. It makes me wonder, if we were to build all of our players in attacking awareness would we end up with a team that constantly finds space

Heya! Yeah, pretty much😀Height is definitely a prerequisite. Harder to have long legs without being tall😁 Great height for example gets Van Buyten even higher up the spreadsheet despite having his leg length 3 values lower than Vieira.
Tomiyasu (188) vs. Rüdiger (190) or Vieira (192) does highlight the importance of leg length though. Or Wan-Bissaka (183) for instance whose leg coverage diameter almost matches Araújo (188) and is quite a bit above Tomiyasu (188).
You're absolutely right that height matters, in the full spreadsheet with all players, the top 2 players in terms of leg coverage diameter are Hudlin (206cm, 11 leg length) and Touré (206cm, 11 leg length). That alone obviously doesn't make anyone a good player though.
Fun fact months ago, when trying to find out how important height actually is, I tested Touré and while he did have a great interception range, I quickly stopped using him because he was way too sluggish, like no match for any meta defender😁

I actually checked all the popular GKs a while ago to find out just that, but it's hard to say for sure, it wasn't really conclusive. I think my hypothesis was that shoulder height + arm length are important, but I pretty much have no evidence for this, I think Schmeichel, who many people love, is pretty subpar in one of the stats, but I'm afraid I don't remember exactly.
Interesting thing is not every Vieira is so good lol I've tried many builds but still he just doesn't want the ball but my opponent's Vieira he's a god you cannot stop him and if you think it's a skill issue top 400 rating btw

Sure, it's 0-1-0-6-14-7-11. I wouldn't use it outside of quick counter though (possession could also work), and even with quick counter, there's a chance it's slightly too speed heavy. It works fine, but I might try a different one for the next reset. If you use long ball counter, go for 0-2-0-10-11-7-11 if you want the +3 manager boost on lofted pass (useful if you plan to open with him using stunning crosses directly to your forwards), if not, you could go for 0-0-0-10-11-8-11. At least that's what I'd suggest.

@@peapod5629 Hey! I've used box to box Zakaria for a long time, I think it's fine. If you play Long Ball Counter, put a defensive instruction on him to make sure he is always in place to intercept counter attacks.
If you use Quick Counter, even anchor men as well as destroyers or no-style DMFs will move further up provided your attack takes long enough. You could also give him a defensive instruction here, which will make sure he won't move up too far further, meaning he'll be back faster. To be fair, if the enemy attacks quick enough he could still be too far up.
If you have a too big gap between your defensive line and your midfield, you could even give 1 DMF (provided you have 2) a deep-line instruction, then he'll be covering of this space many times (if you've seen my Quick Counter vs Long Ball Counter video, it's shown there).

Hey! I found one of them in the complete spreadsheet with leg length 9. The spreadsheet is a few months old though, so many of the new cards aren't included. I have no idea whether there's a newer version available. Usually, most cards keep having the same dimensions though.
Wan-Bissaka is amazing, not only in terms of leg length (where he also has the maximum value of 14), but also in terms of stats and stat distribution. I'm still playing my ManU card of him today, awesome card. He's excelling defensively though, so you could use Ben White if you need a more offensive option.
