Hey Maney, in my experience with flying pigeons it's better to have a longer loft then wider loft. If they need more room Width wise you can make the aviary bigger in the long run it will benefit much more.
yes i like longer lofts then deeper ones much better ideas!
I have a lot of respect for content creators who do whatever it takes to keep their subscribers entertained, like you for example Maney, we say we want longer videos in documentary format, that’s what you give us, if you keep this up, you will hit 10,000 likes in no time.

The pattern is from dominant to recessive:
T-check>Checker>Bar>Barless, which means Bar pigeon cannot have a T-check baby! Good video! Good content!

My pigeons paired up a fancy high flyer and a high flyer and the baby turnout to be a Dark check with a dark bar and white tip it looks pretty good

generally i dont, i do one day with grit and then one day with PMP just dont have enough bowls atm ahha birds in cages everywhere

im not sure i have never used them, i like grating or wood floor where its easiest to clean for me

I know you have probably said something about it, but that yellow grating you have of the garage floor, where did you get it from?
The grating is called FRP its made from fiber glass and its use for industrial walk ways and bot marinas and stuff like that
@@ManeyPigeons Thanks, I left that comment before I even watched the whole video, didn't think you were going to talk about it. I'm building a loft soon, I was originally going to have a solid floor but talking to the guys at the club they suggested having a mesh / grate floor. Still don't know if I'm going to build my "forever loft" before next year of build something around the same size that you are talking. I want to have at least 30 race birds for next year.

yeah the FRP is good stuff it will last for ever, sheets are around $330 1.2m x 3.6M which one sheet would do a loft for 30 birds, basically 1.2M longer then the loft i have now, and that has 36 box perches in it. The sheets are expensive you can get off cuts to make up the smae size for maybe $230 but the time it will save in cleaning is worth it, plus air flow and all the dust will drop out, im thinking sand underneath to scrap it out, plus 30 birds racing with west coast would last you all season if you managed them right.

Hello sir.....I need some info from you so plz kindly reply or anyone who would like to help me.....so I have pigeons and I open then around 9 in the morning and throw feed and so around 4:30pm to 5pm they have their last feed and get into the house ,so what happened now is that there is a mature hawk around my place and it is very fast and skillful and it almost caught one of my young pigeons and the only thing I could do is scream and throw something in the air to scare it away but one of my pigeons hid in the buildings nearby so plz give me advice on what I am doing wrong

Theoretically, if a loft, including the inside spaces + cubby-holes, were entirely cement, wouldn’t cleaning be as simple as water-blasting and scrubbing whilst the birds were out flying? Trying to mentally plan the perfect loft for a future endeavour!
depends on your climate, if your hit with snow and that then no, but if your in a dry climate then it would be good as it would all dry out pretty fast. i am going to be going more down the ease of cleaning in my future loft build, similar train of thought as yourself, easier is better

Why don't you take the loft you have now over to the block and just build the aviary onto that . And save that grating for the big loft your going to make . You will save more money that way . And 30 to 40 birds won't fit I to that loft mate it would be super over crowded you would have to clean it constantly.
I have been thinking about the idea of moving it over to the block and then just building another 4 breeding boxes and keep breeding at home and move the ybs over, might have to be an option if i sell my house and rent but we will see over the next few weeks. the grating loft would be good for 52 birds without the aviary part
@@ManeyPigeons seen somone say that in a comment the other day . I had a 20ft loft with just over 40 birds in and that was crowded . Your pigeons will get sick easily with that meny birds crammed together. Just saying . I liked the video anyway see you on the next one.👍✌

It seemed taking care of your birds was relaxing. This video is really dirty lofts, and someone just trying to sketch out a video.
Maney 30 to 40 birds in that tiny loft is just going to cause you problems the cocks will fight way to much and you will have problems health wise birds won't be happy and stressed wich you know is not healthy for them. you need 2 peaches per bird.cant wait to see how you will go when your first race season comes.
i can fit that in the loft i have now so maybe i need to make one little longer then it should be ok, long as i can get 30 trained by race season i should be ok
