Today we are talking about the topic that interests all business owners: The BEST Places in the World to Hire People.
The current situation has taught us that it is possible to work from home, even for positions we don't normally associate with remote working. If my employees are working remotely anyway, why am I paying high salaries and socials in countries such as Canada, Belgium, UK, or the US?
I can get an employee abroad for a fraction of the price. That's why I think that outsourcing is a big thing and it will be a very reasonable future for many companies. Savings when hiring this way are huge!
We are going to share our experiences with hiring in different countries.
The Discovery of outsourcing was a huge thing for me back at the time. I realized that I can get people in a different country for a fraction of the price that I'm paying in Canada or the US.
In the beginning, I'd hire people from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the Philippines. Now I'm mostly focused on hiring people in Eastern Europe, especially Serbia.
Serbia has lots of good people to offer, and people are this country's greatest strength. The education system is very good and available to everyone because universities are free (or very affordable if they're private). This means that Serbia has a lot of highly educated people, but unfortunately, the local economy is not that strong and lots of them end up unemployed.
This is why many are open to working for foreign companies remotely. For us, so far it worked like a charm. All of our best employees come from Serbia.
One thing that is really important to us (probably to anyone actually) is that the culture of our employees is similar to our culture and that we have the same values and goals when it comes to business. This has never been an issue with Serbian employees.
People in Eastern Europe also seem to have great design sense, while the same cannot be said for people in some other parts of the world. That's why for roles such as Web Designers, Web Developers, and Graphic Designers I'd always look in Serbia.
However, when it comes to costs Asian countries are still the cheapest place to hire - India and the Philippines are certainly on top of the list.
Another place where I like to hire, that's certainly not as cheap as countries that I've just mentioned is Malaysia. People in Malaysia seem to be dedicated and hard-working, without some cultural differences (saving face strategy) that might be a little problematic when you hire in someplace like the Philippines.
Who are we and what do we do?
We are Offshore Citizen team. We help people become global: get a second passport, set up a second residency, pay less taxes, do banking abroad, etc.
We have lots of interesting articles on different topics, we have relevant information up to date.

I have to tell you that video quality just keeps improving. Good job Michael!
I totally agree with you about Serbia and other countries in Eastern Europe. Awesome quality of people for competitive prices. Some of the smartest, hardest working people I've ever met are from that part of the world. 👍👍👍

Great video! We have an excellent worker from Albania which ticks all the boxes you talk about with Serbia. We've had SUCH a hard time getting good workers in Colombia though, we have two now finally but boy was it a challenge to find ones with a good work ethic that could consistently follow directions.
I love the idea of running fb ads though, thats super clever!

Great video as always Mike . Just to add one more thing based on my experience. I've found a ton of talented UI/UX designers that mostly fits SaaS products in Indonesia . Impeccable quality with competitive price (cheaper than Eastern Europe I reckon).

Really nice content! Where would you recruit accountants and lawyers english natives speakers to built a remote team?

    • @OffshoreCitizen
      @OffshoreCitizen  Před 3 lety

Depends... for lawyers you need someone familiar with local laws and sometimes they need to be licensed locally so the opportunity for outsourcing is reduced. In the case of accountants are you looking for accounting as in tax filing etc. or management accounting or book keeping? India tends to be a good place for this.

Love your insights, sir. Which country would you recommend is most balanced in terms of being caring, with self initiative, english literacy, decent work ethic, not so expensive, non technical? Scratch out Filipinos pls. Im a Filipino...
