Can you do one for Massachusetts? That is where I live and from my understanding, Massachusetts doesn’t recognize the foreign tax credit nor will it honor the for an exclusion unless you’re moving to Canada. As I see it right now, my only option is to move to state tax zone. Stay there for a couple years then leave.

Australia is a great place to live if you never want to get ahead or own anything. Just be able lower your standard of living and the welfare system can provide for your needs. If the ATO wasn’t a government organization they would be a criminal enterprise. If you work and try to accumulate anything you are taxed on your tax eg..GST, goods and services tax on top of income tax on top of luxury tax on top of petrol business tax. Not to mention every place you want to go has a tolls that all link up and have per kilometer rates. It’s the equivalent to a modern day slavery.

Not only more than a bank but more than a country, ideally more than a continent. 2 isn't enough, IMHO. I'd say at least 5 or 6 accounts spread around. Even if you're poor like me, it's good to have enough to purchase a flight elsewhere if you need etc.

I love your video though arnt as negative as you in your previsions. The local government does limit the supply production of units per year and it is, up until now, quite in line with the inmigration numbers: the forcast for 2024 is aprox 38.000 units with aprox 120.000 people moving in. I think 2023 was 100.000 people moving in with a handover of 27.000 units, etc.I dont have access to estimated hand over units for 2025 but I do know different developers are completing at a different pace: Emaar in Dubai creek handover is mid 2028 while Damac is early 2027 for exmaple. I guess time will tell :)

Maybe if the intention is to spend a few years in Dubai working for a well-recognized international company, that’s one thing. But moving there from Canada for good sounds weird…. Why not Russia? The climate is similar at least 😂

Unfortunately I have only realized this after saving for retirement for 30 years as we get closer to retirement the numbers add up to becoming flexible, step one obtain residency in another country, there are many options. Planning is key. Stay well folks

We are probably the most taxed country in the world, the living cost is a joke and the government seem to always give themselves pay rises or not caring for the people who live here . foreign investment in our housing market is a disgrace pushing home prices and even rent through the roof on average $700 a week for rent . Food prices are way through the roof as well being your mate even your every day needs a bottle of milk close to 5 dollars .

If you're an American, you don't just open an offshore bank account. Uncle Sam hates you, and he hates you trying to save yourself. He requires all sorta of compliance with stiff penalties for non-compliance, and most banks won't even deal with you as a relative of Uncle Sam. Uncle Sam, like a controlling abusive pimp, wants to know everywhere you go, and everything you do, and everyone you talk to offshore. It's expensive to comply with Uncle Sam's nonsense. At this point in time, with current regulations and reporting requirements, the best a peasant can do is Bitcoin, Ether, or something like Tether. They're extremely strong offshore banks, and they can easily complete with any offshore bank. Exchanges worldwide become your new banks, and the crypto your bank credits. There can be all sorts of problems with banks in other countries. Don't kid yourselves. Very complicated for a peasant to navigate. The most daring peasants can take their Bitcoins and enshrine the wallets into offshore trusts, like a Cook Islands trusts. Nuclear grade protection.

As a US citizen, doesn't simply opening a foreign account automatically trigger additional IRS reporting requirements in addition to possible additional tax filings on any earnings in that account as well? These would both mean either paying a tax professional to help you get it correct, or creating even more problems for yourself. If you have a legit need for an offshore acct, absolutely. But just for "fun" or cheap "insurance"? Pass. Not cheap or insurance in reality.
