Less than a 30-minute drive outside of Nizwa, Oman, the Tanuf Ruins sits just at the entrance of Tanuf village. If you visit, you can spend time exploring the old houses and crumbling structures. It's an easy drive with a sedan, but if you want to visit Wadi Tanuf behind the ruins, you'll need to have a 4WD or AWD.
The Tanuf Ruins are open 24 hours and are accessible without any kinds of tickets or anything. It's a great stop especially if you're visiting Nizwa and Bahla since it's between the two areas.
