  • 60pts at Memphis after 65 & 50. (2007)
After scoring 115pts in his last two games, Kobe is on a verge to accomplish something only Chamberlain, Baylor & Jordan have accomplished. From the baseline reverse dunk to his last play, Kobe played at another level, well above everybody. After watching this game, you can't argue who's the real best player is. He's drilling threes 4 feet behind the three point line so easily, that you find yourself saying "WTF!" He's making tough fadeways over two defenders but tough shots for others are just normal for him, and that's why he's just above everybody else. For the last 2 seasons, when he made history, he was not ranked next to Jordan, but with Chamberlain. By scoring at least 50 for the 3rd straight time, and 60 for the 2nd time in 3 games, Kobe made history...again.

When I watched these games back then, I was absolutely amazed. But looking back now, I appreciate it more. I mean, who could do this today? 65, 50, 60, 50 in 4 straight games? It's remarkable.

I like your facts there, I constantly tell people the same thing. The reason I think he's the best ever is his skill level with the account that physically there's nothing special about him. MJ had huge hands that could palm the ball so easily. LBJ has a crazy size an athleticism. Kevin Durant has a freakish length like a giraffe. Kobe just worked harder than everyone to develop his shot and moves and turn them into pure skill. He's never the strongest, highest jumper, tallest, longest, fastest.

Has anyone else read the book of basketball? I still can't believe Bill Simmons could rank him #15 all-time. He diminishes Kobe's streak of 35+ games that broke Jordan's record along with his 81pt game, this 50 points streak, and several other of his great performances saying they were against mediocre teams, but with shots like the one to end the half from 6ft being 3 in this video does it really matter who's guarding him? Some of his shots are truly unbelievable.

And forget about stats just a minute and watch Kobe games damn it. What he's doing behind the 3pt line since that game where he drilled those 12 shots, it's just amazing. The way he shot the ball, 3 feet behind the line, tough shots for anybody else, just "routine" for KB. That's why he's above everyone else. Jordan never shot the ball that way that far from the basket at normal pace.

Hes a 6'6 210 pound guard who in this stretch of offensive greatness, he was literally triple teamed and he still breaks the records..I dont want to compare, but Lebron James is 6'8 and about 270 pounds, hes blessed with athletic abilities..that nobody else in the NBA has...Kobe is a streotypical shooting guard(weight and heigh) but he posses an ability that nobody else does, hes just special

60 point game. for most players this would be the game everyone mentions when they mention that player. A 60 point game and most probably wouldn't even remember this game because he has pulled off a 3 quarter 62 point game, a 65 point game and an 81 point game. Absurd really when you think about it.
Didn't even mention his 4-5 other games where he scored 50+ points and sat out the 4th quarter in each of those games.

Hes only 32 he started in the league at 17 so i mean hes far from done we got like 5-6 years of athletic kobe then he will probably turn into more of a Ray Allen type guy but still time and time again b-ball players have shown value around or past the age of 40

@mlp25 um i think kobe averaged 35 points one year and he got 2800 points so pretty close to 3000... his career average will never be high like jordan cuz he came in str8 out of highschool to a championship contending team so he didnt score all that much his first 2 seasons... jordan won 10 scoring titles thats extremely impressive but there were not many good scoring guards when he was playing compared to kobe
