David Bowie - What In The World - live Musikladen 1978 (rare colour outtake)

- In May 1978, Bowie and his touring band filmed a set for Germany's Musikladen TV series. 'What In the World' was performed but not shown as part of the original broadcast and it has never been included in the subsequent repeat broadcasts. It has turned up online in a black and white version but as far as I know this is the first time it's been widely seen in colour. The quality is far from perfect - it contains many glitches - but it is still very watchable.
I've tweaked the picture to get the best out of it and replaced the audio with an higher quality version from a different source. I hope you enjoy it.

This is an brilliant find. Does the black & white version have the glitches and slightly flittery picture that this does? There could be a way to superimpose the colour from this onto the images of the black and white version, making a version superior to both.

thanks. where did you find this color version? i´'ve never seen it on BowieStation. This makes me wish you had the same technology as the Doctor Who Restoration Team (using the chroma info from this copy on the black and white version which is clearer and more stable i think but as just said, black and white). It would still take a lot of work, but i have confidence that given the tools you would be able to do something like that.
I wish I had that technology too : ) I'd like to see the whole Musikladen show get an official DVD release including this track.
