  • Pittsburg Plunge is a Shoot-the-Chute water ride built in 1995. Designed by O.D. Hopkins, this standard plunge ride takes a large boat of up to 20 riders up a chained and down a 50ft drop with a giant splash of water at the bottom. Riders and nearby onlookers get drenched.
Pittsburg Plunge was built as the center piece for the Lost Kennywood expansion in 1995. The name is not a misspelling as that is how Pittsburgh was spelled at the turn of the 20th century. While the layout is standard, the presentation helps emulate past shoot-the-chute rides of the 1900's and 1910's. The fountains and nearby balconies add more charm to this Luna Park inspired attraction.
