The main advantage of watching your channel for me was getting the courage to try to fix at least some easy fixes myself ... and yes, you need the diagnostic tool to do the job. Best advice.
Another brilliant video. Vera saying, " I know my shit," was epic. Fabian is lucky to have good friends
Enjoy your holiday in the US
Ahhh, that explains why I have a landrover. I have always painted my house through the mail box 😂
Just about to service my RR Sport transmission this week so your timing and guidance is second to none. The humour and banter is similar to northern English, making every video a treat. You are easily the best on CZcams for Land Rover owners and fans. Many thanks to you both.
6HP is the only trans where i will not delete the adaptations. It compensates for clutch wear by increasing the amount of fluid used for actuation. By deleting adaptations your are increasing slip as the the clutches will not engage fully for many hunderds of shifts, and many cars will burn through E-clutch before wear is compensated again. I know you don’t like critisism but having warranted many 6HP due someone deleting adaptions during used car prep this was learned the expensive way. Use or ignore, fine with me either way.
Thanks for sharing. This Atlantic British pan is actually Britpart. I had one fitted and it leaks. Very disappointed. Buy original Land Rover part would be my advice.
Damn, that was frenetic. I'm going to have to watch it again at half speed. Everyone needs someone like Fabian in their lives, he sure does make things interesting! Well done on getting all those faults sorted, and that compressor cover was a work of art. Thanks for teaching us how to do things properly, always fun learning with you two.
Good morning from Essex, England! Great job guys. Fabian is a lucky man to have you as friends !
Hello fellow Essex person 🙌
ITS LR TIME😊😊😊 good morning guys.great episode this week.vera seems anxious to get her discovery back on the road.christian makes everything look so easy.enjoy your week, till next and the next episode.😊😊😊
You are just one amazing mechanic! Machining a new part for the compressor is a lost mechanic art, most people nowadays would simply replace the whole thing. I am very fortunate to have worked in a machine shop.
Always a joy to watch not many people have the confidence to touch an auto box ! 🤔
You got a lot done over two days. Fabians LR will love you and Vera!
You two are the most adorable and awesome couple on CZcams.
😊🙏🙋♀️Vera
If you ever feel like taking on another 'Friend' with a Discover 3 that needs some TLC, I can offer you a very nice holiday in the Scottish Isles 😀
I have learnt so much from your channel, always great content, I look forward to Sunday Mornings to watch ❤
Love the honesty. I’m a Land Rover person. So I like all that you do.
Good morning from Scotland 🏴🏴🏴
Did you know that we have the same flag?!? 😊😊. You hace a nice day !!
👍 Wow! (the usual Sunday 'Wow!'...). Not sure that 'anyone can do' all of these, but certainly some of these - many thanks for the education as well as the entertainment.
Would love to see short clips demonstrating (where possible) the fixes in terms of driving experience - before and after type of thing.
Hope Fabian was happy (in his place I would be ecstatic).
Thanks again, and already looking forward to next week!
Another good morning from Ayrshire 🇬🇧🇬🇧 🇬🇧
Another great job. Fabian is lucky to have you work on his Discovery.
As usual, very educational and thoroughly entertaining, morning now complete 😊
Just about to do a service on my 6HP26. Good to see i'm using the correct parts. My transmission also has a slight shudder at 2000rpm. I hope this fix worked for Fabian. Thanks for taking the time to make great videos. Cheers from the land of dirty air filters..
I think Fabian might want to do more timely preventative maintenance in the future!
I completely agree.
Please do a follow up on the 6hp service. Have the same symptoms 😊
Good morning Vera & Christian. That was most interesting as always with lots of funny Toyota puns lol 😆 x
So many wonderful shed toys. Envy!
Good morning Gloucestershire England. Good videos very informative
just bought a 2015 d4 black edition, with ARB Bull bar and spots, 125000km no beach no road, no trailer braking, town car with 20 inch Pirellis, which have to go ,wow one UP on my tdv6, 2010, so will be following your channel more, wishing i could send pics
I wish i had a work shop o be able to make parts. Loving this..
Hi Guys, many thanks for the awesome content.
Christian, many years back I've seen a mechanic use foam fire extinguishers that he emptied, filled it up with various oil fluids like gearbox, diff oil then repressurerise. Added long pipe with a thinner nozzle. He would then if he wants to fill for isnatnce diff oil just stick the nozzle in the diff hole and press the release handle to fill up. Works like a charm.
Groete van Kaapstad, Suid Afrika
Professor Discovery at work... Quite amazing, every time.
Thank you from South Africa
Good morning from Tenerife island's !!! 🏴🏴🏴
I would be embarrassed bringing you a truck with brakes down to metal. Great work, you shall be known as Saint Christian, patron saint of LR3 owners.
Fabian is a lucky guy
Another excellent video. Hope Vera is running on all 6 cylinders again and you are enjoying USA.
I love that Vera likes @JustRolledIn. That's one of my favorite channels.
The Hitachi compressor is superior in nearly every way to the AMK. Kudos to you for making a new cap. I have a bag full from China, but they supply bad air fittings.
Top job as always!
I’ve just completed a rear wheel bearing replacement (press fit with a locking tab arrangement only) and rear discs / pads on our family VW Caravelle and I am knackered so you must have ached a little after that mammoth service activity!
Of course I am a few years older than you, but not that many ;-)
Keep up the amazing work and thanks for sharing as always 👍
Good morning from Belize&Guatemala. Thanks for the very informative video. Love the way you meticulously took apart the compressor. I would have replaced it. However then I wouldn’t have learned so much. The transmission job was so informative too. I was afraid to get a Disco 4 before stumbling on your channel. Thanks to you both I am confident with my purchase. As Vera would say “Oh My God”. Thanks very much and looking forward for the next video.
Been there done that with the compressor the best one I had the end cap actually blew off!
BANG ❗️
REBUILD USING WHAT PARTS I HAD AND SOURCED
Brake issues are inherent with your climate I had this problem on motorcycles back in the 80’s and 90’s hence why I live in Australia!
Great video as always!
Take care and thanks 🙏🏼
very well done guys
Like the new transmission oil pump , I need one of those
Your new oil transfer pump are brilliant, make filling the gearbox, transfer case and diffs so much easier. Best I have tried by a long way. 👍
He got his moneys worth out of that brake pad. Love the channel
Watching this tech school performance...excellent...painting your house through the mailbox....great line....
Super job one more time.
Another Sunday morning watch Think you can do this blindfolded Christian.Nice to see Fabian again.
Great content again, enjoy your trip in the States !
Hello Vera and Christian!
I have seen all of your videos from the first time “a land rover lover here” 😂 i have owned a disco1 10 years ago and now i wanna go back at land rover again , i just cant get out of my mind this car and looking for a Disco4 right now i have all of the information needed just from you thank you so much!! And i will add 5w-40 definitely.
Perfect👌💪🙋♀️
What a gem of a channel. Absolutely priceless content. Thank you for all the hard work.
Lucky Fabian 🤨 Kicking off Sunday with some thorough work
You certainly have all the right kit Christian, wish I had a car lift on my drive, awesome stuff keep those Landy's alive.
Thanks another informative video 👍 Vera is great 👍
That was a great overhaul. I wish Fabian a safe journey with no D3 mechanical troubles now.
How do you guys find time for all these projects while still working a regular job?!?! I'm glad you made time for a summer trip to the American SW to have some fun. 😄
Wonderful video as always ! You have a seriously impressive set of skills and knowledge, your friends are lucky to have you be so generous with them.
You guys are amazing. I can't believe how thorough you are! Keep up the great work and videos. I'm on my 5th Land Rover and love these vehicles.
You are WAY better than the dealer Great work!
Admirations! Your videos are making me jump in my Disco3 and drive from Bulgaria to you for a quick and professional service in your backyard. Huge respect.
I know these D3's inside and outside having owned 3 and travelled Southern Africa with s Howling Moon roof top tent.., Sold the last one 2 years ago. Even so just addicted to Christian and Vera LR Time... Best 4x4 you tube Channel by far..👌 Keep the humour, along with interesting content coming...including the many British innuendos...definitely German engineering with British humour ❤️ it..
Did the gearchanges improve? Great video as always.
LR-Time is so addictive, mega LOVE from Mossel Bay (Western Cape Province) South Africa 👌👌.
Christian, You are the Leonardo Da Vinci of Landrovers!
Hello from Finland 🇫🇮 🇫🇮🇫🇮
My therapist says I should stop watching your videos 😥, as I still want to add a discovery 3, or 4, or both 😁, to my collection.
It cant be that bad, I tell her, Christian and Vera have several and they are perfectly normal 😝
What a thriller intro! I was saying "o my god" together with Vera.
@11.55 German engineering at it's finest, Christian you are so talented 👍
OMG! great video! Quite a bit to but must be very rewarding for Fabian, lucky chap to have you two on the case! I use K&N filters, no issues, and our little Mazda 2 will pull up hills in top gear with it. Regular maintenance is all that is required. Of course we tease you with the comments, it's a sign of a great channel!
Fantastic again!
Just when I thought, I haven’t seen Fabian for awhile then he shows up with this amount of work!! 😂
I wish I had friends like Christian and Vera in Australia to help me with my disco 4
Happy Sunday ❤
Awesome .................Great Video
Thanks for the video.
You are a very clever man. Best Land Rover videos on CZcams keep them coming. I wish you could work on my Range Rover Sport.
Well done a garage could not do all that but thay could give you a good bill
Amazing, well done 👍
Another entertaining video thanks guys
Thank you.
I did a fluid change on my ZF6HP6 on my "not a land rover"😂 BMW X5 a few months ago using genuine ZF components (apart from the oil) used a brand I have used many times. The mechateonics sleeve connector was a right pain to get back in again with the new seals !
I Used the correct procedure as you guys have done but with an Autel diag instead....what happened to me is that once I filled the transmission up with 3+ litres then shifted through the gears, the BMW step auto selector would go straight back into P !!
Fast forward 30 mins of going "o no-what have I done!" - i realised that as I left the pan & mechatronics off overnight, I had in essense performed an "extended drain" and a lot of the fluid from the torque converter had drained out thus not enough pressure on the clutches-the gearbox was saving itself !
So despite me not being able to shift through the gears first time around, I kept filling at the right temp hoping for everything to sort itself out.
It did ! - phew !!
(great video as always guys) and OMG those brake pads !!! 😮😮
Thanks for the video Christian and Vera 👏
Great video, as always - thanks. Today I am a happy new owner of a Discovery 😃 Paid the deposit yesterday for a September 2016 registered Discovery Landmark - Silver with just 34,000 miles on the clock (LR Approved, so I get the guarantee and the Land Rover off-road Experience). Hope to collect it on Wednesday, but so well looked after it looks fresh from the showroom. So, almost the very last of the good Discoveries they made. 👍 Now - if I could only find out how to pay into your PayPal account without having one myself - I really ought to get the LR Time patch and sticker now I actually have a Land Rover. I will have to pop over to you on one of my cross-Germany trips to Slovakia so you can video what a RH drive Disco looks like. 👍
Recently purchased a 2010 Range Rover Sport and your channel has become my #1 go to! Subscribed and became a Patreon. Keep up the great work!
😅👍🙏🙋♀️
Thank you 🙏
Excellent work as always. Well done.
Great video as always. One thing I want to point out when you were removing the seized caliber pin with heat is to always point the pin towards the wall, or at least not towards a person. With heat and grease that might be left in there expanding it can shoot out violently.
Another great video, well put together and very interesting 😊
Another very impressive video,,,I hope Fabian pays well...
14:11 hey. I would say you need a strip light under the cupboards to help even out the light on camera. 🎉 enjoy your break in the states!
Loving the T-shirt 😂
Hi Christian no need for the reciprocating saw for trans filter removal, a good hard hit to the side will break the spout off, new solenoids and valve body sonnax zip kit are a big improvement if you are suffering from shifting issues.
Great great Video….but please guys…let me know from where I can get this white headlamps!??🙏
Good mo from Wales. Great video as always
Good night from Wellington NZ
Excellent.. really interested in the piece on the 6 speed transmission.
Had a non franchised LR shop do the pan conversion on my LR4. Leaked badly afterwards. They had not cleaned the threads out. So they did that and guess what... Chasing out the threads they broke the tap on the one near the cross member. They had to remove the transmission to fix it. I think that qualifies as a debacle 😔. I was going to do the job myself but I don't have a lift... I never imagined they could cock it up like this.
Love it, Kristian and Vera, BUT, please, dont do this again, I almost killed myself getting the coffee in the wrong side off my troath when Vera said : "I know my Sh-t". Made my day!!!
Great video
You are simply the BEST my boy
I wish I lived next to Christian!!😂😂
New subscriber. Cheers from the island of Guam USA👍🏝️🇺🇲
Wow this should be titled these are the jobs you need to do in your D3 when you buy it😅 fantastic to see all the usual suspects being done within one video. 👍Loved the bit where Vera said ' I know my shit' 🤣🤣Fabian is a lucky man to have you guys on his team.
Until I came across this channel, I thought I was quite handy...
