Arab owner pushes the boundaries and finds loopholes but acts within the rules... Simon: 'Bah, disgusting, may not have broken rules but it's against the spirit of the rules... something must be done to stop this. They are making a mockery of the efforts to to make the sport fairer for everyone'. American or Western owner does the same, whilst inflating the transfer market, far more than the Arab owner(as did Abramovic before Boely btw and there's an investigation into years of financial breaches ongoing). Simon: 'Brilliant ownership model, he's doing what an owner must to improve his clubs position. Very shrewd, they know what they are doing.'
Also Simon: 'What's that? UEFA briefed the press when they changed the name from FFP to FSR in June 2022, that it was specifically because FFP was never about level playing fields and the name gave the wrong impression(probably covering their backs against a legal challenge)? Well erm, UEFA are talking nonsense because it ruins an argument I made.'

Plus he mentioned Chelsea as a good example. Who are owned by a consortium who manage billions of £s worth of Saudi assets. They are finding loopholes, they are inflating the market, Simon's attitude... 'Good for Boehly'. Abramovic before them, is the reason Chelsea are the top transfer market inflators in the PL era(followed by United), Boehly has probably added to that to make sure Chelsea hold that title for the foreseeable future. Abramovic was also an Oligarch, the whole reason his funds were frozen was his Russian state links. The club are currently under investigation for years of financial irregularities(illegal transfer payments) too, which the club already admitted. We wait to find out how many transfers, how many years, how many trophies that implicates. Yet nobody cares(Simon doesn't)... take your time with that one PL. That's UK football fans for you, probably western football fans in general. Juve have had a book full of scandals from the 90s onwards, they've never got half as much heat as City got for allegations that have not been proven(Barca more recently... muted response in comparison). Something is very wrong with the way the City haters are reacting when you deep it like that. They aren't being genuine and they aren't being honest, not even with themselves.

@@Collier990RHCPBeside showing prejudice and bigotry and not getting the basics of the ownership right? Besides not getting the country right. City aren't owned by a state and never have been. It's a private ownership, no consortium funded by state wealth was involved in the takeover. Which means it's all Sheikh Mansour, he's moved up the hierarchy since 2008 sure enough(they all have, it's how it works with Royal families) but he's nowhere near the most powerful royal in his own family, his two brothers far outrank him and are far more involved in politics. There are also 6 ruling royal families in the UAE and a Federal Supreme Council that even the President(who is the Emir) has to answer to... Yet stupidly, western know-it-alls think all those powerful people would have allowed Sheikh Mansour to have every legal claim to something they all wanted a piece of in 2008?... When there was no FFP, when there was nothing stopping them doing what Qatar did or Newcastle did. Takeovers which were both completed with FFP in place, not to mention fit and proper owners tests. The conspiracies(disguised ownerships that began before FFP) don't even begin to make sense when held next to the facts, the timeline of events before and after the takeover. They mention Kahldoon here, as if he is an Emirati royal, rather than businessman and a chairman who's understandably very proud of what he's achieved at City. If he wasn't an Arab, would they have viewed it with such cynicism and destain? No! So how isn't it bigotry?... It's pure ignorance. He's even bigging up Chelsea's ownership(never had much to say about Abramovic and where his wealth came from, Russian state links, or Boehly and the consortium and their Saudi links and the new ownership strategies, including finding loopholes, praised them for that lol).

This is just idiotic. Where the hell is anyone confused where they are from? People are confused about who owns Newcastle? PSG? City?... no they're not. Like simon says, you can do anything you want to hide or ignore the dirty oil money deals (and cheating in the sport), but you're not going to confuse people about where the ownership is from.
Just like all of UAE's lies about "zero poverty".... when there's been hundreds of investigative journalists that have found 3rd world country conditions across the UAE. Or the lies about workers compensation that just never happened and many workers received not even a fraction of what the UAE said publicly about their wages. God help the idiots of the world that think Haaland scoring a goal covers up their dirty oil money and dealings.

Far to logical of an observation for talksport(brace yourself, when they can't argue, they tend to just hurl their dung and shout at you. Typical plastic redshirt behaviour). It's also quite obvious even on the occasions the media do get the country right, it's not City's board, or the UAE or Abu Dhabi constantly trying to remind the public of the connection, it's the press and they aren't doing so to present a positive image. Quite the opposite in fact... They'd be asking for a refund from City by now because what little coverage they do get is so negative in this part of the world. They don't claim credit because legally don't own City and have never claimed to own City. At minimum, even for that embaressing 'disguised ownership staring in 2008' theory to work, you'd expect City's board reps would be required to shoehorn in Abu Dhabi or the UAE into every statement or speech given at press events but they clearly don't. None of the key components required for the sportswashing theory to have any credibility appear to be present, just the superficial ones. 'ah he's from an arab country and he's a royal, that's good enough for us' or 'The owner is from the UAE and they have some deals from the UAE.... That's unheard of isn't it... and state airlines never sponsored any PL clubs before City either right?'
Again, this is all far too logical and thought through for the average talksport fan.

The lack of understanding here is staggering. City create a documentary during every season, which is uploaded to their own streaming platform and eventually youtube. This season they released the trailer to their platforms as normal in September, thus the intention was for the upload to be the same as every other year. Clearly, after the historic treble, streaming companies were suddenly interested in the footage they had, and Netflix decided to buy it of their own accord. In the way studios often buy pre-produced products. It has taken nearly 8 months from the initial trailer release to city's youtube channel for the Documentary to finally be released on Netflix, partly due to Netflix employing their own editors to oversee a new edit. There's no massive conspiracy, it's simply one company recognising the potential interest in anothers work, and capitalising on it themselves.

No difference in Chinese swimmers using steroids to Lance Armstrong or Ben Johnson. The EPL wouldn't be causing such a racket if they didn't find any substantial evidence to expose Man City. Their reputation is also on the line. 1 breach is just as significant as 115 breaches. Regulations are set in place to ensure the game is played in a sporting fashion. Not only have City spent profligately , financially doping the sport, but they had the temerity to refuse full disclosure of their books. Now if that doesn't raise any suspicion, even among the most ardent City fans, then we need to thoroughly question ourselves morally. @@StopLookingAtMyAccto be honest, that’s how deep ManCity is in the process. There is a lot of manipulation in the process. Would Lionel Messi or Ronaldo release clause be at $50 million when they are in their prime. Absolutely not. This is why the investigation is going on. I understand what the agency is saying but it doesn’t make any sense. Mbappe, Messi, Neymar release clause would not be $50 million. The agency can fix it any way they want but it doesn’t make sense. Let’s see what the investigation says. European football is dirty. There are a lot of under the table payments going on. There is no salary cap like American sports. American sport leagues are very transparent in their transactions and I am not a NFL or NBA fan but there is a lot of crookedness going on in the Premier League and European football due to the lack of transparency. Halaand market value was clearly $100 million plus at the time he signed for City. I don’t care what that marketing agency is saying. It’s a bunch of nonsense. That is what you call cooking the books. Everyone knows that Halaand was the guy since he was 18-19 years old. So that marketing company devised a crooked scene that would get Halaand to ManCity without breaking FFP rules and satisfy City, Halaand and Dortmund. The other teams got screwed.

Pep is a great manager but let’s look at the facts. He inherited arguably the greatest team of a generation. He went to the treble winners and then to a state owned club. He has always had world class players in Spain, Germany and England with an open cheque book to replace whenever he wanted to. SAF broke the 100 year old domination of the Old Firm. Can’t think of another country that’s had that happen. He took on Bayern and Real and the CL winners and beat them with Aberdeen. He came to United when they hadn’t won the league in 19 years. Pep took over at City after they had won the PL 3 years earlier. If Pep does leave if any of the 115 are proven correct (he is an honourable man after all) then if he then goes to Majorca, Genoa or say QPR and win their top league then succeeds in Europe then he can sit alongside SAF and Cloughie.
