As a Pompey supporter I remember losing 6-0 at home to arsenal in the cup we were outclassed but stayed to the end and cheered the two sides off!

Loads of pompey supporters left that day. Don't lie.
What's that got to do with it sunshine?? (Don't accuse me of lie never said now one left fool)

100% agreed. Im a Luton Town fan and watched us play Nuneaton at home and Dartford away in non league...and now we are in the Premier League. Wilder's excuses are pitiful . Sheff Utd are a pathetic outfit led by a whinging manager, a disinterested owner and players with cohones the size of garden peas 😂. It IS a shocking statement, I will explain why. All Sheffield Utd have to do is finish the season above 3 teams. That is all. It is not impossible at all with 12 games to go. It is absolutely disgraceful and this is not even the start. When he played my team, Wolves, he started saying that the players should be showcasing themselves because they could stay in the premier league even if Sheffield Utd went down. What kind of policy is that? Play well and don't bother trying not to get relegated? It is frankly bizarre. 12 games to go, 12 points from safety and it might not even be that after ffp points deductions kick in for other teams. Pull yourself together Sheffield Utd. Just because your manager has given up there is no need for you to.
The Blades staying up at that point would be statistically the greatest escape of all time.
Jordan is bang on about Wilder absolute trash manager
well said simon.. most of those players couldnt tackle the puzzle on the back of a cornflakes box..
Bang on simon. Wilder is an arrogant pr1ck with an ego bigger than the sun. A legend in his own head who always throws the players under the bus rather than look at himself.
I'm a Blades fan and Simon Jordan is bang on the money.
I agree with Simon about Wilder...100 per cent.
Club sold their 2 best players just 2 weeks before the first game of the season, had a budget of just £20m to buy new players, and from a 25 man squad there were 14 injured players. Owner wont spend but doesn't really want to sell. SUFC have lost their identity and are stuck in no-mans land. But every home game there's still 28-30 thousand attending. The fans deserve better.
Could be much worse. They have had a phenomenal 8 years. Look at their city rivals or other championship teams

As a Newcastle fan, who's also had a clueless owner, my heart goes out to each and everyone of those fans who are suffering right now. The thing that hurts the most is the lack of ambition, it makes supporting your team a bit pointless at times like that.

It's funny the same thing happened with Arsenal against West Ham a few weeks ago, yet Simon had nothing but praise for Moyes. I guess when you have favourites, they can do no wrong and when you have dislike someone, they can do no right.

We (Luton) have far less money than SheffUtd. This stat is mad. Last summer SheffUtd spent more on one player (Archer) than we have spent in our entire 140 year history.
They also spent 25 million on Rhian Brewster, a crazy amount of money on signings especially for a club that didn't have their premier league status confirmed.
Luton will be down and stay there. We won't.

As a Southampton fan I can see if we go up we will have a season like Burnley. Yes Sheff Utd got creamed last night but if everyone had played their A game it still would have been two or three nil to Arsenal. The reality of it all is football is dominated by money and also the big clubs rigging the game in their favour with five subs and 105 minute matches. The gulf is enourmous now and the Championship is now dominated by the clubs that went down the season before, the game itself is going wrong not just Sheffield United.
I totally agree. Especially the 5 dub rule is a shocker. Mind the gap there. And it's coming from a gooner. Unfortunately the time of a back five winning stuff with not so much money are definitely gone. And the worst...it was much more entertaining 1991 than 2024 whatever happens to our club this season.
thankyou for being smart rather than just bashing sheff utd like everyone does
I totally agree with this, the game is ruined because everything is in favour of the big clubs and I do mean everything.
Exactly, especially when it is not safe to spend now. The money needed to buy good enough players now is ridiculous, and promotion doesn't give you enough anymore. Unless you have an owner who has money to start with
Never knew Peter Kay was a Sheff Utd fan, Fair play to him.

Teams tend to declare at 5 or 6.
No need to go all out and risk injury. No need to "humiliate" the other team, is probably a big part of it too.
@Bedfordshireman something like stop it, its already dead 🤣
Arteta was scared of injuries. Martinelli still got injured though.
Newcastle were 3-0 thanks to a handball, free kick that never was and a penalty for handball that wouldn't have been given against Man City or Liverpool.

I'm a
Southampton fan, so I know that your going to get hammered is going to happen. But your team should still be able to give a good account of themselves. What is brilliant about being a smaller club, is when you can produce the shock results. Beating the likes of Liverpool, Man city etc. You need a decent owner and manager to start with!!
As a Derby fan I feel for the fans going into the Prem with no to little investment is difficult especially watching your team losing every single game… Simon Jordan talks utter sh*t
A new manager will not save a team this bad. They are going down. At least Luton give it a go
The only mistake Sheffield United has done this season is resigning Chris Wilder. They really thought he could've been the budget Big Sam 😂
Nope, he was brought back to try and win promotion with no budget again.
Just don't be a football fan from South Yorkshire its traumatic
Ive heard a few people say the gap between the premier league and the championship has increased since sheff utd were last in the league. Yes the gap may have increased slightly but this sheff utd team is levels below the last sheff utd premier league team they had.
Wilder is a 90s manager - amateur. He’s a Mike Bassett, get stuck in, let em know you’re there BS; they need a thinker like Howe or O’Neil… ie Potter. However, on talking to Blades fans, the owners are a poor man’s Glaziers - all about doing things on the cheap, and getting what they can
All managers get jobs at some point because of others departure/misfortune I don't agree that it necessarily makes them 'cuckoo's' I just hope we start planning for next season and beyond. There's potential at the club that's not currently being realised..
I think we need to remember that Simon Jordan doesn't like Chris Wilder for whatever reason, so his opinions are inevitably going to be coloured by that fact. Basically whatever Chris Wilder says, Simon Jordan will hammer him for it.😂😂
Christian Hammer😂Gustavo Hamer u mean
Forest spent 3-400 million putting their side together over the last 2-3 years and are one place outside the relegation zone - if that doesn't set alarm bells in the pyramid then nothing well. The gap between the Championship and the PL is huge
Once promoted the club should have invested more than what they have to provide Hecky with the best chance to survive year 1 back in. They didn't. So straight away United were under pressure. The fault lies with the owner not investing in recruitment of the right players at the right time for bigger investment probably more than ever the club had sanctioned before. But that is exactly what was required. Ultimately Hecky paid the price for that. They then bring back Wilder who has unfortunately inherited the exact same problem the club faces. All that said it is very fair to say that Hecky and Wilder are not premier class management. So realistically speaking United are a championship club untill the club is correctly geared for premier league football.
IT'S an intelligent man who throws a cup of coffee at someone
Saw him before the match, looked like he had just done a line of the "good stuff". He's an utter muppet
We should have brought Warnock back in until end of season after sacking Hecky ...no doubt ....to inject some steel back into the club and team . I gaurantee you we would not be getting walloped like we are ....we would have been fighting a relegation battle but a battle we would be up for under Warnock ....Wilder is was found out after season 1 back in PL ...His managerial record and journey after bailing shows that

@@williamedwardsanti i suppose the prevailing spirit in a club comes from the top down. If prince abdullah can't be bothered this will filter down the club. It looks like it is not a very well run club. Other clubs in premier league seem to be able to adapt to their circumstances. But there is only so much talent out there and somebody has to be bottom. One of the things i would say to counteract what you say is that everybody including the fans need to use playing against more superior players as a learning experience. @@stevenkennell2890 Most fans turn up on matchday with some form of naive belief that they may see some effort or a bit of fight and a performance. If they went in half time say 2-0 down and then lost 6-0 they probably would stick around. But to be 5-0 down at half time is a joke at any level. You may as well go home and not watch the rest. I always judge a manager and a team on the first 45 minutes, that first 45 minutes is the gameplan, the second half things change and you adjust to the game.
Which means they went into the game with a plan that was absolutely shattered after a few minutes. It was poor. People deserve to walk out

Funny how Simon say, "Wilder should be sacked," after that, but when it comes to David Moyes, it's fine.
Don't usually agree with Simon Jordan, but on this occasion he's spot on! ⚔️
The prince was only stressed due to finances! Wasted money on our first stint in the prem and he needed last years promotion to balance the books, it's a complete joke for a club that's supposed to be moving forward, how can a club move forward with an owner who wants to sell and unwilling to invest on a squad that's capable of staying in the premier league. Some of our players just aren't good enough and some don't deserve to pull the shirt on again. We are in a pickle but the least wilder can do is make sure he puts out a team that are willing to give all and fight to the death.
Why do bigger clubs like Sheffield utd, Sunderland and Birmingham always seem to go for these hopeless managers who look like relics from a bygone age while genuinely small clubs like Luton and Bournemouth go for modern forward thinking young managers who are capable of giving much bigger teams a hard time and playing a standard of football fit for the premier league?
Like Vincent Kompany? Brilliant forward thinking manager that has got Burnley a massive 0 points more than the Blades

@@roboi2241 but he's a modern forward thinking young manager like you suggested....and is failing. Doesn't matter who for, he's had 4 or 5x as much investment in his squad than Sheff Utd or Luton and achieves the same level of performance as the 'hopeless' managers that you suggested Sheffield united go for. If Pep was managing Luton, Sheffield United or Burnley he isn't keeping any of them up but his sides plays some of the best football ever. There are many examples of it too, hence why most teams in a survival battle go for experienced managers; Dyche, Warnock, Hodgson, O'Neil, Bruce, Wilder, who all try to get blood from a stone and quite often succeed

Championship was evidently poor last year. Then throw in sale of the 2 best players, injuries. We never had a chance. And when losing every week it's on the verge of being toxic, players falling out, fans leaving. The gap to PL is huge. Look at the money Forest spent, and will they become established (if we say that is stay up for 5 seasons) probably not. Next year the likes of Leicester have a decent chance, so different every season. Can look at Luton but even if they scrape it this year what chance do they have of staying up the next 5 seasons? Football isn't what it was and tbh it's more enjoyable in the championship. You could say that is our level, or you could say it shows that money wins. I do think something needs to change to help bridge the gap. I saw someone above say only 2 relegated from PL and that would probably be better. And other changes to help bridge the financial gap.
Berge and Ndiaye have both been poor at Burnley and Marseille and both wanted to leave. How thick are some fans still to fail to realise that keeping players who'll just string us along is no good. Current players are poor but those two would've been out of their depth in this league.
