In Maine they showed this right after a College Football game. Rain almost caused it to be cancelled until Sunday. Weather held down the crowd and that's a shame because it ended up being one of his best performances ever.

my dad, came to tell me,in 1975!& He made it!!
When You Watch It On TV, It Doesn't Look That Far! But When You See It In Person, You'll Say: "WWWOOOWWW... That's A Long Ass Jump"!!! 😮
Crazy stuff from a TV perspective. To televise this entire thing in real time like this today would be unheard of. In fact, the Knievel organization would have to go get the sponsors on their own and buy the time on ESPN or even one of the networks to buy the hour of TV time. If it were covered today, it would be boiled down to the 2 minutes of actual action. And certainly not LIVE.
The only thing that’s similar is the guy who walked a tight rope across the Niagara Falls a few years ago. And that was impossible to watch.
You’re right but I’m not sure why that is, in in era where live events are more valuable than ever you’d think daredevil stunts would be prized as must-see events by sports divisions. But instead it seems to be the reality show divisions of these networks that keep picking up on it, effectively turning it from what could be a great sporting event into just another reality show.
I've seen him in 1974 at dragway, 42 in Ohio I was 9 years old.
It must be said....the wheelie car was just stupid.
#haha. It has a big cool engine though!!
Yeah the Wheelie Car was absolute shit !!
