How to get to Governors Island from Manhattan (4k)

The short boat ride from Manhattan to Governors Island can be accessed at the Governors Island Ferry Terminal at the southern tip of Manhattan. We give walking directions as to how to get to the ferry terminal from all major subway stops nearby.

To think, I used to live on GI in grade school. Had to take the #1 train or the bus to school in Manhattan everyday as a child.
