    I've never seen a guy that is not regarded as an all time great be able to respond like this. You hear stories of Kobe or MJ all the time of getting trash talked, then shutting everyone up, but when do you hear those stories about a player like Bautista? He is so underrated. It takes talent to respond to this level, only a few can do it.

      Exactly, he has a weird knack for doing dramatic things at clutch times. Look at his first game back to Texas, went 2-4 and drove in 5 runs, one was a 3 run HR. Its too bad he's getting old now though and coming down from his prime it looks like. I'm actually shocked he didn't jack that HR off Bush in the bottom of the 9th when game was tied in the Texas series this past season. He's just not the same guy now though, age does that. But he was AMAZING.

    I was at that Jays/Orioles game back in April, the one shown at the end of your clip. Yeah Bautista got the better of them, but then he went and fucked everything up in the next inning by trying to gun down Delmon Young at first base, from right field. He wasn't even close, and ended up screwing up his shoulder. Been stuck at DH until today, and the team's defense has been pathetic without him. Sometimes pride gets the better of him, and it's cost the team.
    When he's on, though.......few are better.

    • @Airplane299
      @Airplane299 Před 9 lety +13

      It's because he's young, and many people assume immaturity is the reason. Personally, I don't know Bryce, nor does anyone else, so I can't judge him, but he looks like he does have some learning to do. But at the same time, He is being compared with the past greats, and other star rooks who are different, who are all associated with a good legacy. Building off of that point, everybody just sort of expects Bryce to make the hall of fame and be a model player that all kids look up to because of the talent he has and expectations people have for him as a result, and Bryce can't be himself without being called flawed. This is different with Bautista because while he still maybe is a great player and role model to kids, it isn't on the same level because he isn't expected to be a hall of famer, or be a 'great' so to speak, because he started the good phase of his career late, and was never going through high school, scouting, draft(whom Bryce was number 1 pick in), farm systems, as the stand out "next great" kid. I think as time goes on, he'll channel his actions, and think them instead of show. This will allow him to become more relaxed and the media/fans won't get to pick on him anymore so they will move onto someone else.
      WOW that was a really long post. I would like to personally congratulate you if you read that masterpiece of mine.
