2002’s Big Day Out was horrible in terms of filming Silverchair, SOAD and a lot of other bands sets were missing the first 3 or

I remember all the promos before the first album came out and I was blown away, and then the album was stunning. Then the second one was beyond stunning. Took me 7 years to see them live from hearing the promos and it was stunning.

my first ever purchased CD was Toxicity, with 12yo. After i got a PC is discovered BDO2002 and i think i heard it hundrets of times. 34 years old now, saw them live and still my favorite band of all time.

Yeah I'll respectfully disagree as well...there was a special stretch of time back when serj was very passionate about the band, performing live, delivering the songs and putting on a good show until he wasn't anymore. He had outgrown the rockstar persona and wanted to dabble with other interests which led to a rebirth of the serj thay you have now. Still love the guy, he's just passionate about other forms of artistry and causes now.
I was absolutely obsessed with system of a down when I was 11 and I listened to them all day every day. I've been watching videos is this concert since 2006 or 2007. They're still my favourite band of my whole life. Im 29 now 😄
I would give my life to be at one these of shows.

It's weird how SOAD used to be so popular that they even dominated the mainstream channels and had huge crowds at music festivals singing along to all their lyrics of basically every single song. They don't seem so widely appreciated in 2024 which saddens me.

Remember the Sydney big day out set a week later. Was so fucking good, also hilarious as they sound checked SOAD guitars by playing slayers riffs so loud over the shitty soft rock band Waikiki on the adjacent stage playing before them.

After the death at the LB performance a few years before this they moved some of the headliners into the middle of the day to spread them out and control the crowd better in the daylight, it was nice not to have to wait all day to see such a big act. I was at the Melbourne leg of this BDO and these guys were amazing live... video proves it.
