Seeing Daron repeatedly sing “we’re on drugs” while his pupils are the size of a dinner plate is so matter of fact.
He definitely wasn't lieing it reminded of the rick and mortey episodes were rick make and takes a young clone of himself to morteys high school and party's so hard but then he trys to tell everyone he is dieing but everyone just cheers

@@vagamer4311 Probably. Now that he's gotten maturer. It's been almost 20 years since this live performance - all SoaD members are now in their 40's, excluding Serj who's in his 50's. A bit of a shame really, since if he was younger he could still regularly do his awesome growls and screams. With practice he might still be able to, but we'll never know if SoaD never releases another album.

Despite the technical problems, I think this is one of the best live shows ever. I mean, they even made Daron's guitar not working interesting. And obviously their energy throughout is stellar.
agreed. idk the prior schedule that lead up to this gig, but their performances were dynamite. Daron’s guitar performance & sonic dynamics impressed me most, while Shavo & John gave him & Serj the rigid backbone to showcase themselves. I play bass in live venues & studios with original & cover acts, so I’m partial to recognizing & praising what drums & bass deliver, especially when you have unique performers like Daron & Serj on stage with you; you wanna give them the solid foundation & launchpad to explode on…they did just that & gifted us an incredible show, worthy of the camera & audio efforts.
I loved how after the guitar started working again, they INSTANTLY go into a lil freestyle bit without even looking at each other... the chemistry!!!
I can tell you rn the reason that guitar stopped working was the heavy interference of drug use
Despite the technical problems, I think this live Show maybe the main reason they will invent time travel some time.

@@CarsCatAliens I saw them 02.04.22 so less than a month ago in Los Angeles and they sounded awesome! Put together, Sergs' voice was good after Covid, the guys were all playing together really well. Sometimes when you go to a live show and a band sounds nothing like a studio album it's a let down but it was a good show except for some of the other trashy bands playing with their trashy fans taking seats they didn't pay for.
Can we talk about how on-point Serj's voice is in this? Almost as clean as the studio version! Amazing!
Seen them live around this time best live band I have seen his singing was on point the whole show was on point Darren was running everywhere so much energy

I grew up with Metallica's guitar harmonies, Pantera's heavy riffs, Dimes unprecedented solos and Slipknots aggressiveness. Not to mention dozens of other bands.
Then SOAD came along.
The vocals harmonies of Dan and Serj were never experienced elsewhere. Just phenomenal, and still are today.

Sorry to disappoint guys, but it's actually all 3 at once. It's one of the most impressive performances live because not only all of them are fucked but their instrumental front man is literally FUBAR, as seen on the small clips people pointed out. Notice that everytime one of the band mates fazes out into space they instantly remind each other to wake the fuck up and play. It's beautiful. To this day I haven't seen anyone play live as FU as Daron here in front of a huge crowd. Takes guts to do that. Also it was the first and only time Serj came out with initiative to start out Bounce in a cool way and he was so pissed off at John for not starting the song, he never did it again 😂 From Lowlands onwards Daron always gives the que and starts the song. You can find the death stare at around 50 min into the show.

The improvisation while Daron’s having guitar problems is so impressive, goes on some freestyle rap shit, SOAD are true artists man.
It's actually a poem by Serj from his book Cool Gardens called Nations. Although the book was released after this show he likely had the poem already written as opposed to making it up on the spot during this show.

I was 13 back then, and I saw them live shortly after this one at Ozzfest. SOAD was fundamental in my evolving musical taste. They were (and still are) great.
