Nice video! I’ve never tried the stihl line, but I’ve heard it’s good stuff. I really like 0.095 too. Good balance of strength and clean cutting.

Thanks! I’d like to bump up to the .105 but my 94r doesn’t recommend that.

Michael Douglas you should try the new echo black diamond line if you haven’t already. Supposedly the new stuff is stronger because it’s actually .105 line twisted tight to bring it down to .095 diameter. I’ve been meaning to try some myself one of these days but I’ve heard great things about it. I like line that flies very flat and doesn’t wobble at all. Makes it much easier to do edging that way.

Yes, I want to pick some up and do a comparison video with Stihl’s twisted line.

We only use Still CF3. It is the best line for our needs, cemeteries are hard on line and it works.

Yeah, I’ve changed my mind since this video. I think the cf3 is the best. I still would like to test it against the black diamond from Ecco. Have you used that?

Haven't tried the Echo, but we cut 4 cemeteries and 3 Corporate accounts with nearly 2 miles of chain!ink and CF3 last longer than any other in your list.

Do you also soak your line prior to use?

I want to get a spool and compare that to the Stihl twisted line. I’m assuming they are very similar.

i normally cut pretty thick grass and light brush. I could use a blade...... but it would take forever. I am looking for something extremely strong to avoid blowing all the line out always. I have been using the stihl x pattern, and its ok... but looking for something with better durability. I do have the tri blade, the brush blade and now the chainsaw blade from amazon which is amazing for big brush. My property if not nailed every year, by the 2nd year turns into light brush; then by the following year again i will need to hit it with the brush blade which will take forever.

Soak your line in water to make it last longer,, slows fraying

Just one correction It is pronounced “Shtil” instead of stil. It is German.
