    The Rotary string is really good...leaves a clean cut and works good for sweeping large areas... Not gonna lie though,but I wish Lesco was still around...Their standard,round 095 was good stuff...5lb spool would last FOREVER..lol....one recommendation I have though,is next time you have a large area to sweep,try doing it walking backwards... IMO,it leaves a much better cut and mulches up the thatch much better,so there's less,to no need for cleanup👍

    Vortex is good line. I don't know how some people get the idea that it is not. I get the sense that most of the negative reviewers are homeowners/Amateur 'pros'. I discovered it some 8 to 10 years ago in South Florida and have used it ever since. Quiet and a smooth cut.

    I’ve been using rotary for 2 seasons now. I actually switch back and forth between echo and rotary. The echo line, in my opinion is a finer cut and more delicate where the rotary is a little heavier duty and better for tuff jobs. Down side is it’s hard to see when spinning and it is much less forgiving.. in my opinion.

  • @andrewsisk6223
    @andrewsisk6223 Před 4 lety +1

    Johny my personal opinion is to keep guard on not for safety but to keep that line moving at maximum rpm it cuts cleaner faster opposed to cutting more at slower rpm with Alternatively leads to you going over it more times to create the same quality cut as the shorter string just my opinion!!!!! Maybe I just cut to much grass pop smoke man keep up the work at the end of the day do what you like and stay focused on what's best for you great video man!!!

  • @kmwjr9
    @kmwjr9 Před 4 lety +3

    That use to be my favorite line. I still love it and I really like the way twisted line reduces drag on the motor @ high RPM’s allowing it to cut smooth. Is that a 95 or 105 ? 95 normally cut through tall grass better and 105 edge thick grass better. Great work by the way. I see your solo today also

      Stihl said:
      STIHL USA Nylon is a hygroscopic material and if the line is stored in dry conditions, e.g. in a shed or a warehouse it can loose its moisture and therefore its flexibility, it can become stiff, brittle and break easily. Storing it for a couple of days in a closed bag with some added water at room temperature or higher will bring the line back closer to the original, more flexible condition and should significantly reduce breakage due to brittleness.

    That line is the .95 line right? Or you guys got the .105 one? I think they have a .105 version like the Echo Black Diamond. I've also heard that the .105 Echo Black Diamond is used by a lot of landscaping businesses. Saw a video that they were using it for 6 years after having tried many. It does look similar to the Vortex in color and twist with only the sharp edges being the difference with the echo.
    Don't use the .95 as a test tho because heard the.105 echo black diamond was better than the.95
