Mike and Chris can turn literally any topic into an entertaining debate. Miss them together! GOATS!
Doug Pederson is better than belichick

Ppl don’t realize that Mike & Mad Dog are literally the genesis of sports debate show format that we now see today.
Glad I saw this comment. These two deserve all the credit and more.
I give Skip Bayless his credit he officially started the “sports debate”. People always disagreed but Skip was the one who said we need to do this for real
@@RawwRex these two were debating when you were still in your dads nut sack
REAL NYC GOAT$$
They are both terrible
This is so great having them back together!
Doug Pederson is better than belichick
By the way, Jordan has NOT been replaced. He's been retired for 20 years and his name is still the biggest name in American sports, and definitely the biggest in the NBA even now
I don't think he means surpassed, I think he means the sports always continue marching on decade after decade despite the greatest leaving.
It’s because of his clothing brand
I hope we will get more Smith Mike and Chris First Take Shows !
Come on! How do these 2 guys not have a show on TV!
Most professional I’ve seen Molly be. This was a great segment.
Good to seeing both Mike and Mad Dog back debating. I grew up with listening to them on the WFAN being back east. Nice job Stephen A. Great idea.
2 Legends who changed Sports Radio
SO MUCH Sports wisdom & insight there, and entertaining!
Bronx-born & bred here so these guys are my heroes!
This is the only combo in history I've ever heard people ask this question of. They were the greatest football combo ever. Everybody needs a quarterback and everybody needs a defense and a coach. That's what they got from those two.
This should be the new First Take team. It’s better with the mostly toned down and reasonable discussion with only the occasional getting loud or yelling to add some energy.
It is good hearing them together
It’s gonna take me a while to get really interested in the Nfl again, because Brady is the reason I woke up and watched football nonstop on Sunday, he’s the reason I celebrated so hard yelled at my tv and also got pissed too at times when he’d lose but I loved feeling those emotions, and now it won’t be the same without Brady, Im a Patriots fan and unless the Patriots start doing something I don’t really care anymore
Sucks too be you then 😂
So youre only a Pats fan if they do good ?

All those super athletes Tom was throwing the ball to, making amazing plays after the catch! And now you don’t want to watch the NFL because one guy is gone? Allegedly. Lol
5:27, Solid sports talk today. And I agree with Mike Francesa, Belichick needed Tom Brady to win, not the other way around and Brady proved that by winning the Super Bowl in Tampa. Also congrats to Tom Brady on a great career💯Next stop is the Hall of Fame💯
Brady stopped alot of dynastys and great qbs of today from winning their 2nd or 3rd chip
3-0 vs Steelers by themselves in the AFC championship. That's 3 times they kept the Steelers from the Superbowl.
He was the greatest quarterback ever in an era that had the greatest quarterbacks ever,
When you also factor in that his superbowl winning teams did not always have great offensive players, aside from randy moss and Gronk, you realise that his greatness also comes from being the most resourceful football player in the history of the NFL.
He came back from 28-3 down in the superbowl with Julian Edelman as his best receiver to beat the best offence in the NFL that year.
Tom Brady was always the ultimate big game performer who made everyone around him greater.
both Bill and Tom needed Adam Vinatieri
You got that right
Why? They won 3 after he left, while he won one without them. 1/3 in SB 38, one 19 yarder in SB 39..
So did Manning in 2006, and Brady never had a Defense like the 2015 Broncos as Manning had.
Yes a great coach needs great players to win. Usually a great player needs a great coach to win or a incredible stacked roster
Best conversation I’ve seen on first take in forever that was a great job
Who needed who more got completely answered after leaving.
both needed eachother tbh
The three should have a show..would be fantastic
Brady is the goat always will be but he always had an elite defence due to coach belichick so they needed each other
Doug Pederson is better than belichick
Mahomes the goat

Well said. Best analysis of NFL goings on today.
well at least francesa knows a little bit of football.
Shieeeeet hes@SUPER GURU 💯
Seriously, I am sick about people downplaying just how much money Tom Brady left on the table during his New England days. I mean, let's be real here. We're talking $100m who the hell in the history of sport turned down that much money just to make their team more competitive?
This is gold
Mike and the Mad Dog are hilarious!
This needs to be a regular thing having Mike and Mad Dog on the show together
You can be the greatest coach in the world. If you don't have a QB you will not win, if you get lucky you only win one. Not multiple. Bill needed Brady more.
I miss listening to Mike and Dog on the way home. Peak radio.
Most definitely one of the best first take ever with those 3😁👌
Brady on this year's 9ers team could have definitely got a cihp. 8 chips is insane
@herpes69 Belichick has won nothing as a head coach, without Brady. We have 10 seasons of evidence of this.
@herpes69 Not even close to reality. May I bring up Patrick Mahomes taking over Alex Smith's job? Or Purdy with the 49ers? You have no idea what you are talking about.
When a coach's job is on the line, he is going to go with the QB that's winning. Try again. But with brains this time.
Not mention. Patty is a very mobile QB. He's a lot tougher on his body than Brady or Manning ever was. I don't see him holding up long enough to get to more than 4 Superbowls tops
Facts
As a patriots fan, he’s not wrong at all. Belichick has yet to win a playoff game post Brady
Technically Bill only has 1 playoff win without Brady in like a Decade of being a head coach without Brady. Brady on the other hand won 5 playoff games and a Superbowl MVP in his mid 40's. Done deal if you ask me.
There is no debate. Brady = Greatness. 🐐
i love the luck when it comes to atlanta and seattle, but what about luck when it comes to the bs drop by welker and crazy catch by tyree...
Steven is a genius. Add billy Simmons and you have a sick show
That’s pretty obvious. I agree.
Off the rails in no time. Love it.
who?
It’s like saying Phil Jackson needed Jordan, Shaq and Kobe more than Jordan, Shaq and Kobe needed him.
Why are these clipped!! SHOW the entire thing!!! I watched a few on here and the all are sliced. And..... Mike we have Dennis in Dumont on the phone!
Mike is awesome
Its 75 brady 25 coach no knock on bill but it's the qb
“They replace everybody”. Amen to that. The world keeps spinning everyday. The topics of today become the faded away thoughts of tomorrow
Francesa has always hated Belichick and Brady.
Yup. He's a fraud. He judges Brady with the attitude of playing double-dutch on both sides of Double-Standards.
This is such a silly argument/topic. It takes an entire team to win a championship. Players execute, but coaches prepare the team in the off-season & throughout season while also managing situations from game to game & play to play.
Y’all don’t have to minimize someone to build another person up. This should be about celebrating Brady’s career; not telling the world that he’s more important than Bill.
Tom Brady is the goat 🐐
Doug Pederson is better than belichick
Would not call Tom the 🐐, but tip of the cap to him on a very fortunate career.
Of course ESPN have to put them against each other. Sorry to say this, but the Bucs defense would be on a different level if Bill was coaching there. They have different roles on a team, and they’re both the greatest at their roles.
Francesca looks like a character from South-Park..!?
Jesus Christ he's the unquestionable goat, give this man his flowers but can we stop with this bs narrative? tom doesn't become tom without the time and effort bill put into him when he got drafted and how seamlessly he let him take the reigns.
literally everybody let tom drop six rounds for a reason his measurables besides his height were terrible for a NFL QB even then.
bill took a chance on him and his intangibles in 01 when he let him start over bledsoe and created the perfect environment for him to grow . Tom embodied everything about the patriot way and became it's model which bill needed to establish his culture and get the players who came after to buy in, they needed each other equally.
This is highly debatable
They should give them their own show on ESPN - Mike and the Mad Dog - they are far superior to most of their talking heads
Like Asente Samuel said Bill is is an ordinary coach without Brady and bill has a losing record without Brady for a reason
Agreed. Belichek has not been able to win 1 playoff Game without Brady. The one time he got into the playoffs, patriots got blown off the field.
I’m with Mad Dog. The rules are the rules no matter the stakes of the game. It’s just part of the game, period.
Mike is right. Belichicks record without Brady is average
3:45 Tua has entered the chat.
That was great!👍💫
Duh all coaches need players. Look at pop he has done anything since who ( exactly )…. And even If you get the players they have to want to be there and not get hurt. & then the GM need to put more around that players to he success.
Why can't we all agree that they both needed each other!!! Brady the offense Bill the defense! Period! I hate this topic.
I agree i think they both became who they are because of each other.
Because Belichick had a substantial career as a HC before Brady (and after) but Brady won a Super Bowl his first year starting and never looked back.
@@joemagarac405 what are you talking about substantial? Bill has won 1 playoff game in more than 10 seasons without Brady. That's a big enough sample size to answer the question.
So they just going to ignore Bart Starr and Vince Lombardi?
the debate is over? lol
Bob & Bill are going back to Steve Grogan, John Hannah, Stanley' Morgan years N.E.
Totally ignore the question...
Neither would be the GOAT coach or player/QB without the other. Bill was one of the best defensive coordinators of all time with those great 80s Giants teams, but as a head coach, he didn’t win until he got Brady. Brady struck gold the first season with Tampa, but the next two, you could tell he missed the structure and discipline of a Belichick coached team.
Brady and Belichick are both great and the two together is why the pats went to 9 super bowls
Who gave Brady his shot? Okay thank you.
Why does it always end up this conversation over Brady and them because we both know they both where equal winning championship
He won a couple he could have lost....he also lost a couple he could have won .
Big time. His defense gets 1 and I mean just ONE stop vs the Eagles he wins that one. All kinds of stuff happened vs the Giants both times just on the last Giants drive both times that could have won those.
Brown & Graham.
There is no debate it’s pretty glaringly obvious who won
no one
Why does he sound like Sid from ice age
Nobody can talk about sports better than New Yorkers….Aka Mike, Doggie, and Stephen A
The best part of this video is the statement, "a flag decides who goes". And yes that last flag was legit, obviously. False flags early in the game tho matter too.
FACTS: BILL is a LOSING % coach without TB12!!!
LOSING coach BEFORE...and AFTER🔥
Bill and Tom are more successful than all everyone on this show
Yeah yeah Brady also kick three field goals to win 3 for us or he also played defense against rams when we won 13-3 forever a patriot but come on we had top 10 defense every year
what have you done in the 3 years since Brady=nothing lol..😂😂😂
Every year you had a top ten defence there where 9 other teams that had a top ten defence so what's your point
He had to put the kicker in the position to even make that kick tho. Its a team sport for sure but a qb is like 60% of the success because they can set up special teams
We should've beat yall
You also had a top 10 defense the past 3 years and have 0 playoff wins. Brady carried Belichick
I played football in middle school
They both needed each other. Brady won his last chip with a stacked team.
They forget the coach teaches the players the knowledge. Without bill knowledge Brady probably wouldn't have progressed the way he did
Id love if mike was a fixture on this show but the over talking might get out of hand lol
I mean who won a ring without the other🤔
End was funny AF, you right it was a stupid book
Let’s look at the current state of the Patriots, that pretty much sums it up
Brady’s last throw as a Pat was a int btw
@@sirhoopalot1125 Brady last throw the following year was in the super bowl that he won
@@sirhoopalot1125 Ok hater. What does that even mean? When great players retire we don’t even remember their bad memories we only remember how great they were but u wanna hate for what? Brady is the goat & he was always more responsible for the winning & anybody who says otherwise is because of their feelings🤷♂️ cuz the facts say he is.
Bros gonna unretire again lmao
I agree Brady is the best overall QB ever.
I agree with Mike that Manning was the best regulat season QB and Montana the best postseason/Superbowl QB.
Brady's insane longevity and 7 rings make him the best overall.
The way I see it. The Pats had at least 3, maybe 4, championship teams that were defensive lead. The 01,03,04 teams especially were defensive lead.
The 2007 and 2011 teams that lost to the Giants were offensive lead.
The 2014 Pats and 2016 Pats were offensive lead. One was a miracle that Seattle just gave away. The other was the greatest comeback ever that really cemented Bradys legacy.
The one where they beat the Rams in a low scoring game might also be categorized as defensive lead.
And the Tampa win was offensive lead but they also had an incredible D as well. That team was stacked with talent.
The early years thing is a complete Brady hater myth he lead the NFL in TDs in 2002 with a bad offense and threw for 354 yds 3 TDs in 2003 super bowl he was arguably the best QB in the nfl in 2003-2004 when they won
@davis2k1234 Overall the Pats in the early aughties were defensive lead. I'm not cherry picking particular games and I'm not saying Brady was some Dilfer like QB back then either.
@@dukedematteo1995 Brady was the best QB in the league w a bad offense in those seasons though so kinda weird not give him credit there’s a whole CZcams video you should watch dispels this Brady hater myth the team did have a great defense but when you have no weapons on offense would hope defense would be legit plus early 2000s was def diff era
Lol I wonder how many times we gonna hear this topic again
He's the greatest no argument, I like Mahomes and you never know he could already be at 2 very soon.
Today is Flag Football making it easier for Mahomes!
Brady and Bill broke the "barrier"!! Neither would've won 6 w/o each other and in New England they BOTH went to 9!!
Without each other is not the question. Its who needed the other MORE. That question has been answered. There is about 10 seasons that Bill has been a head coach Without Brady. He has 1 playoff win in a decade plus Without Brady. Brady on the other hand has 5 playoff wins and a Superbowl MVP win without Belichick IN HIS MID 40's!!!!!!!!! Case closed. Of course they needed each other. That's not the question.
Otto Graham, Bart Starr, Johnny Unitas and Terry Bradshaw names get lost in history
The officiating ruined the AFC championship game and everyone knows it.
Bill needed Brady Period & they both owe 3 chips to Adam Vinatieri
he would have won #8 if he joined the 49ers, they have a great team
Brady proved that he was the key as he won another SuperBowl first without Belichick. Belichick is the greatest NFL head coach but Brady was the key and Brady is the GOAT
That’s right!!🐐 I’m glad u said this because these are the facts. Anybody who says otherwise is dealing with their feelings because they don’t like Tom Brady but I deal with facts not feelings🤷♂️
He signed on to a completely stacked team and then basically got a default win when KC had no Oline for the Super Bowl. Tom absolutely gets credit for that win but it didn't prove much of anything.
nah Bucs were a superteam that season
7-9 team is a super team 😂 was all Brady just like with the Patriots when he took over for a 5-11 team
@@davis2k1234 Is this your first year watching football? They were a super team without a QB.
If Antonio brown had not gone bat shixt crazy he Brady would have had 8 superbowls right now
as great as mahomes is i think he will end up with like 3 or 4 rings, 7 appearances. but its WAYY too hard to reach Brady level. not to mention herbert, burrow, allen are all going to be part of mahomes career next 10 years.
Burrow will win one or two,
Allen one
Herbert Maybe one
Beginning from Brady's career, he needed Belichick more. At the end of their time together, Belichick needed Brady more.
Brady lead the league in TDs in 2002 with a garbage offense he carried bellicheck from day one bellicheck just a good defense coordinator mediocre coach
There was harm bc Mahomes and Chiefs were losing players left and right.
This question so stupid they needed each other I’m glad he retired so I don’t have to hear this no more
