How To Easily Culture Grindal Worms | Unlimited Live Food for Fish

- I used to feed tubifex worms to my bettas fishes, but the tubifex worms here in our place are from sewers that have lots of contaminants.
Some sellers medicate the tubifex worms before selling, but most of them don't.
Many of my fishes had white spots because of the tubifex worms that I bought. Some of my bettas died with dropsy too.
Now, I am culturing grindal worms. These worms are very good for bettas, guppies, mollies, gold fishes and other fries (fry).
They are clean and very easy to culture.
By the way, I made a typo in the video. "Damp" is what I was suppose to write. Make the soil damp/moist. But not watery ,

I was reading up on how to culture Tubifex to ensure that they have no contaminants that can harm the fry...I do use micro worms (Walter worms) to supplement the BBS when the fry is 4 -14 days old...Looking forward to seeing your video on Breeding Bloodworms... @@carlmarcruz5233 Actually, di ako masyadong familiar sa soil eh. Ang kapatid ko ang may mga succulents. Humingi ako sa kanya ng potting soil. ito yung gamit ko ngayon. Inalis ko yung mga malalaking debris, gumamit ako ng salaan.
ung itsura kasi ng soil mo mukha siyang may CHR(carbonized rice hull) kaya ang dark tignan.. pero di ko din sure.. kasi baka iba soil din diyan.. at baka yan din ung potting soil na nakasako na, nabinebenta sa mall.. salamat sir sa pagreply at sa time.. God bless your channel!! ❤️

I use coconut husks, the best media for grindal worms. I've never been able to keep mites away.

Sir I have taken pair of betta fish and I started to breed them , when I kept the female betta near to the male betta.The male betta started Chasing towards the female and the male betta was biten the dorsal fin of the female and the female betta is still alive and I kept the female into a another glass

I'm keeping grindal on coconut substrate. And feeding it with oatflakes. Because I mean, that they're eating plant food, not animal proteins. My cultures are few months old and clean, they don't need to be started again.

However could you explain more on your method how often you feed them the dog food & also the fry? Is it once daily for fry with grindal worms?
Just a few suggestions the captions in English says dump it should be damp. Meaning to moisten the soil.
Additionally it's recommended that you use hot boiling water to dampen the soil as a way to kill any pest like mites or its eggs which can be present in the soil... many grindal or whiteworm culture do get this mites infestation... when using soil mediums..

Feed the worms dog food when you see that they almost consumed it all.
Moisten the soil once in a while. Dont make it to watery.

Also if you use the needle point plastic mesh you could collect more cleaner worms instead of the plastic paper... see link below.. plus you could rinse out the worms in a cup so you can get any soil removed prior to feeding & sort the worm sizes to feed larger juveniles bigger worms...

Betta fry which grow by eating this worms will have no fins near the gills the fin which is near the gill will not be developed this is my experience don't use it

That happens with Microworms not Grindal worms. Uneaten microworms settle at bottom and their rotting releases toxins which results in loss of pelvic fins to bettas.
If the uneaten microworms are removed (Either manually or leaving snails in tank) , there are no issues.
My bettas are in really good shape, complete and awesome finnage 😊👍

Every anti chlorine have different dosage per water volume.
After adding the anti chlorine, you can use it for water change right away

In 2 weeks if fed proper but it is better to wait 1 month so you dont stress the female betta to much

There are ways how to do it without starter, ysing potato and burrying it, but i havent tried it 😊
The banana method is for microworms...it won't work ...try normal earth from a field near a lake or river 😉
