Excellent polishing job Bob. The shoes look fantastic. I agree with you and wouldn’t attempt any invasive work such as sanding the rough spots. Using a darker color wax such as the black wax you used works wonders in covering some minor blemishes. You should be proud of the outcome of this very nice pair of shoes. Great job and very informative, interesting video!

Nice result. The point about angle and distance in viewing in ordinary wear is an important one. I am trying to teach myself not to obsess about minor flaws that not one person in a thousand would notice when I am actually wearing the shoes. What a waste of time that is!! I am not a big fan of darkening toe areas, but I know that is just a matter of personal taste.

Wow that is sweet. I am kindred spirit...ran across some black burtons for giveaway prices...they get more compliments than my black strands, and my mc allister. It's a great wearing shoe. I was surprised how often it wins in the rotation. Such a great silhouette for a dressed up business casual. Liked them enough to pay for a resole from the Allen Edmonds cobbler.

Beautiful shoes! I love the long slender shape. Reminds me of the a del ray without the split toe.

Thank you for your passion in shoe care. To help with your terminology: the Burton is a plain toe derby with an apron toe on the bridge of the upper.

Good job Robert. I think a combination of water and white vinegar would have helped you with the water spots on the shoes. Also adding a little dark cream on the toe cap would have accentuate the antiquing you were pursuing with the wax. They really turned out very nice!

Amazing job as usual, Bob. Now I'm a little more motivated to polish up my shoes this weekend. Thanks for another great video. Cheers :)

Probably the first fine cleaning these shoes ever received. Most people know very little about premium polishes and cream polishes I would say probably kiwi brand is the most used as a generic brand found in supermarkets.

Bob, very nice work on these AE’s. Man was I hoping you were going to go after the those spots on the toe and instep area with sandpaper. I’d bet the farm you would’ve if you were keeping them! 😀

Bob, any reason why you don’t remove the shoelaces when restoring the whole shoe? Seems to be a recurring trait in your videos though often you do remove them mid-way. Nice to see these shoes get a new lease of life! 👌🏽
