I just want to listen to Beach House forever.
Love that they seem to be playing with Shoegaze sounds as well as Dream Pop for this, hopefully the whole album will have that feel.

***** I actually hope the album will be more diverse, Bloom had 3 great first tracks for me and then became a little repetitive. but anywho, Sparks sounds pretty good to me!

"Sparks" is lush. Listening to it is like having a cold in July and walking around in the heat sorta buzzed on NyQuil and falling asleep in a cool room listening to "Sparks" dreaming about the first snowfall of winter when your mind is making a 100 different videos that could go with this song.
This whole song is designed to make you want to listen to 2:45-3:45 over and over again. Those evil geniuses.
Why those part in particular?

This is such a beautiful masterpiece on a good stereo with real speakers... sad that so many only hear it on a phone but it's great that the band hasn't lowered themselves to that marketing limitation

Sam Ramos I mean the whole albums isn't really this. This is a perfect song, but the rest of the album isn't as good
@@marcobazan4187 I'd say PPP and especially this are the biggest highlights, but by no means is it a bad album. I agree that that this a perfect song and it's probably my favorite by them. Wish they'd tap into this shoegaze vibe a bit more often.
@@LanceVanceDance84 At least they had Alien. That's why I liked Thank Your Lucky Stars better, even though it wasn't really shoegaze they did tap into it a *bit* more for that album.
rollercoaster24 True, I also find Thank Your Lucky Stars to be better than Depression Cherry. It may not necessarily be shoegazey, but Majorette is my other all-time favorite Beach House track next to Sparks, and I feel that overall there are more memorable/catchier songs on that album. It’s also got One Thing, which is another great dive into shoegaze territory for them.

Bloom is a masterpiece, and Depression Cherry is a very worthy follow-up. I love this band!
last night i was driving across the country when i hit fog in the middle of nowhere that was so thick i couldn’t see 3 feet in front of the car. i blasted this song and pushed through, driving into nothingness. i’ll remember it forever
To quote Beach House on their newest album release, " In general, this record shows a return to simplicity, with songs structured around a melody and a few instruments, with live drums playing a far lesser role. With the growing success of Teen Dream and Bloom, the larger stages and bigger rooms naturally drove us towards a louder, more aggressive place; a place farther from our natural tendencies. Here, we continue to let ourselves evolve while fully ignoring the commercial context in which we exist."
After listening to Sparks...they've totally nailed their intentions. I expect every track will relay those same intentions, and I personally can't wait to hear more pre-release tracks...especially because the album release date is AFTER the date I will be seeing them perform in August.
As always Beach House...perfection.
I love this band so much. They are literally all I have wanted to listen to for the past 6 months... It just takes me to my happy place, and makes me feel nostalgic for something that I can't quite put my finger on... Goosebumps every time! Bloom is my absolute favorite, but Teen Dream is growing on me with every listen. I cannot wait for Depression Cherry! Seeing them in December 😄

this is really the most beautiful song ever. I cry every time I listen to. so hard not to once everything kicks in after the guitar. its so full and emotional. I dont know what it means to me but it means a lot

I have yet gone through Depression Cherry, but hearing this on Triple J almost tore my face off. I was having doubts flying all the way to Singapore for Laneway 2016 but I'll buy a plane ticket just to hear this song played live. This song just explodes right at the intro too! Beach House has a way of instantly hooking on to you and stringing you along to another dimension, at least that's how I felt hearing this. Haven't felt this way since hearing "Myth" the first time.
Well said, but I should warn you -- this song is pretty much the only of it's kind on both of their new albums. A shame, cause it's my favourite, but I thought Depression Cherry was pretty great.

+Christine R Depression Cherry and Thank Your Lucky Stars are more reserved than Bloom (the album Myth is from) was, stripping back a lot of the new energy Bloom and Teen Dream brought on top of the style their old albums had. So the newest two were compositionally a step backwards, which I personally enjoyed and thought worked well, but a lot of people didn't care as much for it.
