there’s an old post punk/synth pop band in the 70s called Suicide and they’re def an influence on modern alt rock, including beach house.
@@abraham3673 "many nights" follows the perspective of a person trying to comfort their depressed/su*cidal partner, so it actually is, quite literally, covering su*c*de - in a very raw and compassionate way
On first listen, not even entirely through the EP, it became abundantly clear as this song started up that it was the absolute highlight. Absolutely magical, wondrous stuff.

Holy crap this sent me down the rabbit hole. Enya was my Mom's favorite artist, and the Only Time call was spot on.
I was wracking my brain for a slight movie soundtrack memory it recalled in my head, and I finally hit it, Lost In Translation. Song that it reminds me of is Tommib - Squarepusher.
I also couldn't believe how close the John Maus sound was as well.
Beautiful. Some melodic similarities to tracks like Enya’s “Only Time” and even Blink 182’s “All the Small Things”, oddly enough.

@@sedu2035 these are my top 2 favourite bands. ciggies are much less diverse and versatile in their sound, and yes i absolutely love them but beach house is much more experimental and powerful

Beach House i love you with all my heart, your music touches me emotionally and makes me shed tears of good vibes. I'm listening to you from France... I have been undergoing some difficult ordeals for some time and rather than drowning in alcohol or other substances I drown in the music that touches me such as yours and it helps me to overcome my worries !
It saddens me this masterpiece isn't experienced by a wider audience. The notes fill my soul and elevates my human experience.
Can someone explain why Beach House isn't a household name? On the sitcom "Superstore," there was a disabled wheelchair bound character named Garrett, who worked at the fictional chain "Cloud Nine." I liked the show and remember him mentioning Beach House at least three times while saying his lines. Ahead of the curve. Wonder if anyone else was paying attention?
