Indri Single Malt Indian Whisky

Indri is only the third Indian single malt we've been lucky enough to taste on the channel, and it might just be our favorite too. It has all of the tropical fruit and spice flavours that we've come to anticipate from Indian malt, while also possessing a clean minerality that gives it it's own clear identity.

Sounds like this would be a good candidate to be put into a blind tasting with other Indian whiskies. Thanks for another fun, informative review. I'll keep my eyes open for this one as it has yet to reach the shores of Japan.

I'm sure cognac distillates were added to it. There is a clear young cognac nose (not virgin oak, but grape distillate) right after pouring and the aftertaste of cheap young cognac finally convinced me.

Was disappointed when you flashed the bottle and saw 80.5 Proof on the label, but quickly realised it was imperial and not US proof.

Yes, it seems to be a bit of a convention with Indian spirits. Now one of the only places you'll regularly encounter British proof.

I've had Paul and Amrut and i've found them both hot/spicy. Seems like Indri is in the same league. I much prefer Scotch, even the blended ones are better, you can have them without water and have much smoother taste
