I used that line for a friend of mine who was moving away from home who've known since 4th grade.
When I gave her the letter the day before she left, she cried all over me cause she was glad that we became good friends.
We thankfully still keep in contact once in awhile and writing that letter was a good way to say goodbye.
Bittersweet, but it's the one way to show that you care.
But thank you to Parkway Drive for also, for writing such incredible music.

Songs like this by Parkway Drive helped save my life. I have battled severe depression and suicidal thoughts pretty much my whole life, but listening to Parkway Drive songs have been the ultimate form of therapy to help me through the rough times as of late.

Virgin Smasher Get real. Slayer is great, but speed does not make a better guitar player. That's a horribly narrow minded perspective. Most people care about tone, phrasing, composition, dynamics. Speed geeks often play blistering fast, because they lack the ability to do much else, and the skill of musical craftsmanship. Not all of them, but a good deal of them. There is no better or best at this level; only great players and fan-boy's egos.
Jeigh Neither I've recently listened to Killing with a Smile again and I have to retract my statement because some of the riffs they play are complicated. I still say that Slayer are faster guitar players, but not that they're better.
That's cool. I'm not a huge fan of theirs or anything; I just think once you get to a certain level, it's about personal taste. As a composer, and guitarist myself, I can play blistering fast, but I happen to think the guitarists for Neurosis are brilliant, and I prefer their "ears" to Slayers guitarists. To me it's more thought provoking, and mature playing than Slayers duo. However, which guitarists are you referring to? Jeff Hannerham is dead...and Gary Holt has only been with them four years. I guess King has been with them from the beginning, but Pat O'brien also played a stint with them...
That's not my point though. Slayer is incredibly influential, and are all great musicians; especially the guitarists. When you get to a certain level of playing though, it's not about who is better or best. It's about taste. Besides, no matter how great or fast you play; if Frank Zappa was still alive, he could make a mockery of your music...some people think that is the ultimate in musicianship. Being able to play so well, you can make fun of everyone's efforts. I don't think so, but I still think Zappa was a genius.-Cheers
